Hi ya guys, Ive just bought an RX-8 WOW what a car best drive ive ever had. its a 2004 winning blue with 50k on clocks, but i got a couple of questions that im trying to get help with i called mazda today who didnt help me much then found this website.

Im wanting to know whats the best spark plugs to buy?

will it do a rotary any damage to give the engine a flush treatment before oil change?

whats the best engine treatment to use on the engine to clear some carbon and performace?

sorry if these questions have been asked before.

OEM plugs are the best. NGK is the brand. Advance Auto allows you to select "exact fit" if you plug in the car information on a spark plug search. You need 2 of each of the two different plugs that appear. 2 trailing and 2 leading. Look for a T and an L as part of the item numbers.

If you are flushing with oil, no. If you are flushing with anything else, it might, depending on how much of a problem the other liquid is. Generally if you want to flush the oil system, just do a normal change, drive it 10-20 miles, do another oil change.


Engine decarb is a hot topic and the people that agree don't have much proof of what effect stuff actually has. Seafoam is commonly referenced.
