Which RX8 to get??

Okay so i have two options...

Option 1: 2009 White RX8 GT with full R3 body (wheels, interior, bumpers, etc.) 12k miles. $1,800 more than option 2.

Option 2: 2008 Grey 40th anniversary RX8. 70k miles, not as clean. has he mazda smart card key which I really like, heated seats.

Which one would you guys get? How hard would it be to add the smart card key to a 2009 GT?

Thanks guys!

.1.

bbacho2002 06-20-2012 08:03 AM

easy pick !! #1 .....

Sycoa 06-20-2012 08:19 AM

For 1800, go for #1, series 2s are much more reliable imo.

2_Lousy 06-20-2012 08:19 AM

This isn't even a debate. You would pay only 1800 more for a car with 58k less miles. Option 1 of course.

tza0001 06-20-2012 08:23 AM

1 hands down

tcole6 06-20-2012 08:49 AM

Option 1, no contest. And you get another year and 58k miles of warranty on an engine replacement should it become necessary.

Kaiser bun 06-20-2012 08:14 PM

I concur with everyone else lol

Hydr0nium 06-20-2012 08:19 PM

Option 1 unless the 40th anni has had an engine replacement.

Plus, heated seats are worthless once you replace them with some recaros

ShinkaEvo 06-20-2012 08:24 PM

1, period.

wcs 06-20-2012 08:31 PM

The Series II are ugly IMO, except for those wheels eeeeeewwwwwwww

But seriously with all the improvements ... go for #1

The caveat of course ... which I didn't see any mention of in the thread is .... upgrades

If you wanna do aftermarket upgrades you want a Series I ... period

edit -- not to mention 70k miles is a lot when dealing with a Series 1 ... really it is ... yes there are outliers but it's still alot of miles

SubliminalPollution 06-20-2012 08:38 PM

No seas tonto. Opción número uno!

Totally agree with WCS on the aftermarket upgrades though.

Razz1 06-20-2012 08:48 PM

Get 2

I'm pretty sure you're talking about the Rx-8 on eBay, the white GT with R3 conversion with 12,900 miles that has a SALVAGE title with a HUGE dent in the Quarter panel and bumper doesn't even sit flush with fenders.. there's a reason it's only $12,000

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...item3f18f333a3

And I just looked again on eBay... you're looking at a 40th anniversary for $9,800 miles with 70k miles and again it has a SALVAGE TITLE!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mazda...item3f183e574d

Do not buy either.

SubliminalPollution 06-20-2012 09:05 PM

Lol, damn!

Salvage = No warranty

They're both salvage.
I saw them listed ages ago, it's been months he can't sell either of them.

YaXMaN 06-20-2012 09:25 PM

LMAO!!! Look at how the hood lines up! What a piece of junk.

^Don't forget where the front bumper meets the fenders!

monchie 06-20-2012 10:23 PM

Number 1 for sure!

nycgps 06-20-2012 10:27 PM

Yep.

Myardor 06-26-2012 10:31 AM

Never buy a salvage car. Coming from one who has bought 3 of them. Never again! Ya, am a slow learner.
