RX8 is on the GAYDAR???

A bloke was talking to me about my new RX8 and claimed that in 2004 the RX8 was voted the gayest car in the world! He said that a European magazine had conducted a poll to find the gayest car...and it was the RX8. He couldn't prove this statement but ......

Struth....I'm certainly not gay, I'm not even happy, :bootyshak but this sux. How many out there are poofters or even latent ones? This may be your opportunity to come out of the closet! And as Seinfeld says, "...not that there's anything wrong with that..."

This will stir a lot up I think!! :cussing:

There was a fake gay car story that claimed the miata was it:

http://captaindyke.blogspot.com/2006...car-mazda.html

Motor Trend magazine recently conducted a nationwide public opinion survey in which respondents were asked to name the gayest car on the road. An astounding 72% of all respondents named Mazda’s convertible roadster, the Miata, as the gayest car in America.

When reached for comment, Mazda Motors president, James O’Sullivan, expressed surprise at the survey results. “The Miata is the crown jewel of our fleet. I can assure you it is not now, nor has it ever been gay. Erm, not that there’s anything wrong with that.”

Doesn't take much to stir you mate...by the way how come you had such information within 15 seconds......so defensive. OOOH

mysql101 07-03-2006 02:56 PM

You read too much into my posts if you think it had any emotional effect on me.

As far as speed - I have something called the interweb! Try it sometime.

mysql101 07-03-2006 02:57 PM

Oh, 30 mbps fiber connection to my house also helps.

saturn 07-03-2006 02:57 PM

Hahaha, I'm still laughing! The idea that the distinction of "gayest car in the world" would even exist is just hilarious. Man, they really should have incorporated this idea into the new movie "Cars".

By the way I think the RX8 is one of THE best looking cars ever! I don't care what anyone thinks and if they think that I'll hit them with my handbag, really really hard! :boink:

We're expecting 100mbps connection speed availability by the end of the year.

Meh, you're still at the mercy of every other computer on the Internet. It's not like you're getting sustained 30mbps from this forum. Until fiber really starts becoming ubiquitous, the higher end packages seem like a waste of money.

Every application has it's place.

A forum is mostly text, it doesn't matter if it's on a 100mbps connection or a 1.5, it's going to load around the same speed.

I have the commercial package. I run my own dns, mail server, and web servers from my home. 5 mbps outgoing is very good (I handle 2 million+ page views a day), and I offload the graphics traffic (ircimages.com) to an off site server at ev1.

I can easily saturate my downloads if I'm grabbing a bunch of p2p software. Or seeding a torrent. More is better, just because you're maxing out your bandwidth on a forum doesn't mean I should be subjected to it.

Are you allowed to run a web server with FIOS on the 30mbps package? I know that you can't run it with the next package down as I've seen friends who have had port 80 blocked on them for doing so.

edit: Nvm, found it: Verizon FiOS Internet Service consumer packages include 10 MB of personal Web space. The consumer offers do not permit customers to host any type of server, personal or commercial.

On a Miata forum, owners were "upset" that the Miatas in the movie "Cars" were female. Actually, every car should pigeon-hole its driver: Lincoln Town Car - old white guy; SUV - 90 pound woman with kids and always-on cell phone; Corvette - over-compensating mid-life crisis male; TransAm - over-compensating kid who can't afford Corvette; Accord/Camry - middle-management woman with no sense of adventure; Jaguar S-Type - upper-management woman with no sense of adventure; Beetle or full-size van - Hippie; Honda Element - Hippie wannabe; Boxster - 911 wannabe; Z4 - Boxster wannabe; S2000 - Z4 wannabe; RX8 - superhero. Am I close?

Could be ..but I thought they were just cars, putting too much into this....but I do like your RX8 analysis.
