RX8 In the body shop

So my car got backed into a week ago and now its in the body shop... after dropping it off I realized I forgot to put a note on the dash reminding the techs to not shut it off cold. So I called the manager and he said he would make sure they knew but when I asked earlier this guy said they had gotten several RX-8s in for work before but he didn't know how a rotary was different. On top of all that I noticed their "lot porters" were young teenagers so I recorded the mileage on my car. Has anyone had a bad experience with auto shops? Significantly more miles on your car when you get it back, flooded car, etc... please help me ease my fears haha

They'll probably ruin the whole thing.

Just got mine back from the bodyshop. No problems at all except they did scratch the rectangular black plastic thing just behind the speaker on the driver side window when they took the door apart. Oh well, #$%^ happens.

As A Bodyman In A Very Busy Shop I Can Say That If You Take It To A Good Shop You Shouldent Have Any Problems. If You Do Just Get With Your Insurance Company And They Will Set Things Straight. G/l

yeah its sad to say but insurance companies pretty much rule bodyshops . we do good work and fix things properly and take excellent care of our customers. If you dont do that the customer is pissed the ins. company is pissed and you pretty much lose your ass. i insist on people to check out there car as much as they like to to make sure its done right but to just be reasonable. just do beware of hack shops because there are way to many out there. post pics when its done im curious to see ..

Finding a good body shop should be second to finding a good mechanic for every car owner.

Well this body shop came very highly recommended from our insurance company and the Mazda dealer... I guess its very reputable around here so I probably shouldn't worry.

Many people have experiences where they flood the engine moving it from one bay to the other. In and out of the paint room or whatever. I would stress to make sure the car warms up enough so that the needle moves off of C on the temp gauge.
