Rx8 + bicycle
Who says you can't have a practical sports car........
Rhino Roof racks + Yakima Highroller ....one person asked me if i was carrying a machine gun when carrier was laid flat with no bike on it (1st pic) :yelrotflm http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5072/...93f7d063_b.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5155/...2b5b4a01_b.jpg http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5239/...07cfa7df_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6040/...0322c6ef_b.jpg http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6038/...b2795fca_b.jpg |
I don't think I could subject my 8 to that, but to each their own.
|
That's sweet. I've looked around on this site a little for bike racks before and from what I remember (which could be wrong) not a lot of people have found any good racks. Thanks for the info and pics. How much noticeable difference (in handling, etc.) does it make with the rack on and then with the rack and bike on?
|
I couldn't do this to mine! But it's up to the owner at the end of the day.

Nice rack.... lol
I only carry things inside my 8... Notably Christmas trees, space heaters, area rugs and tire of course... |
I got a cheap bicycle rack from walmart that mounts to the trunk, works well so far.
|
Man that is a cool fit. zNice setup. I dont cycle unless it has a motor but I have to hand it to you, it does look sweet. be careful though when going under low bridges. hmm, it happened to me once, not a bicycle, but damn wish it was. My motorcycle didnt fare well from an upper impact. heh, anyways,
it is what it is, later, Ronnie |
Cool bike rack! Ok car...lol
|
Nice!...I need one to carry a 6" ladder..lol...Is it noisy on the hi-way? I have a roof rack on my other car and its noisy as hell!
|
not been on hwy yet,. the system sits lower than i would have expected. i see that as a positive.
will update on any noise issues soon |
just fitted racks to mine, ended up with a thule 134 foot/clamp kit for an isuzu rodeo, run backwards lol, but it works. going to be used for carrying my dh bike. going to try and track down a fender for the front of them to dress it up a bit more.

Nice! I recently began my addiction, I'm gonna need one soon.
|
I think a top mount machine gun would be nice, tho...
|
^^^^lol. i can see the .50 cal perched on the roof now, lol
|
Nice! I have a Yakima Roof Rack and works great, but I was shocked at fuel consumption. Put two bikes up there and I got like 16mpg on the highway and could feel the car struggling when driving into the wind.
|
mmmm, i don't think i would do that to my car either!!!! The size of the rack/bike is not proportionate to the size of the car I guess.
But hey, if it works it works! |
Might get more bird poop. jk
Reminds me of those Porsche commercials where the driver transports a mattress on the roof. |
Please forgive the thread bump, but I have an urgent question:
In the FIRST pic, what's that white wagon all the way in the back?? |

Same junk, without side windows (they pay much less tax if it's classified as a 'van')
Holden WB, just Google/Images/Holden van. |
