rx-8 release
 

hey guys. i just picked up the latest issue of road & track magazine for the sole reason that the car was on the cover. and after reading it, i didnt feel that my thirst for information was quenched enough, and i found myself longing for more. they explained that the car is allegedly going on sale for under $30,000 which surprised me, but they made no indication of when the car would be released over here on US shores. i'm not expecting it anytime soon like in the 2nd quarter this year, but i've seen commercials for new 2003 model mazdas with no mention of the rx-8. i was just wondering if anyone knew any more to help myself and others.

Every piece of literature I've gotten from Mazda has said spring of 2003. However, some people's dealerships have said they are expecting them late this year. I was thinking there might be some confusion about the RX and the new 6, as the 6 IS coming in August or so. Maybe the dealerships mistakenly thought the RX was coming when it is really the 6 that is coming?

I figure it is now only a year away at the absolute most. :) Too much time....I want it NOW! I hope the excitement for this car can last that long.

I just got an email from Mazda calling it the 2004 RX-8..I was hoping for this fall at the latest, but if it's a 2004 model, it won't be appearing till next spring at the earliest, right? :(
