Rx-8 Popping sound

I've got HKS racing suction, re-amemiya header, catback and amuse exhaust on my 2008 rx-8. After all this installation, my 1st gear is running perfectly smooth. However, during my 2nd gear, at around 7000rpm, there is a popping sound which makes the car lag at that point. I could try to push hard to get through the popping noise after 8,000rpm but am afraid i could damage anything. The 3rd gear gives me the same problem too.

How do i get rid of all this? Has this got to do with the carbon build up?

Need your advise.. Thx

Does it make the pop sound after you bring it above 7k rpm in the same gear?

Tertiary port opens up causes lag maybe? sorry i'm not much help

It's hard and slow to get pass 7k rpm. I wouldn't want to do that, afraid it might affect other part. The popping noise comes from the exhaust.. Is there anything i can do to get rid of all this?

Post a video or audio clip. Your 100% sure it not backfire from shifting? Need to pull codes and inspect your intake, cables, connections, emissions etc.

Is backfiring going to cause your car lagging at high rpm? If it is backfiring, then how do I get rid of that. I can hear from inside and it sounds like popping very quickly..

edit: Just re-read the first post. I thought you only had the intake but I see you had a bunch of exhaust work too.....
I will leave my original post as some of it likely still pertains....

You will get popping when shifting at high rpm.
Popping and power loss at the same time is different.

The power loss I would guess is SSV related, with the exhaust work you had performed something might not be put back together right.

Popping <dunno> again as mentioned below, are you sure its not misfiring? Any chance for a audio clip?

I know this is anal but they are not actually called Tertiary ports. That third set of ports are actually called the Auxiliary Ports and the APV (Auxiliary Port Valve) opens around 6250

Thankfully I've not had to deal with this issue, however I believe that the general solution for lack of power at the top end (as described here) is a sticking SSV (Secondary Shutter Valve)
Have a look at this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-do-yourself-forum-73/diy-remove-ssv-beta-teaser-video-184663/

or

Bad coils, are you sure the car isn't misfiring at high rpm?
Have you thrown a cel?

Now the popping noise from the exhaust is very common in our cars, especially shifting at high rpm if you have a modified exhaust, like one without a catalytic converter (like mine :ylsuper:)

My understanding of backfiring is basically the fuel igniting during part of the intake cycle.

Overrun (I think its called, someone?) is that nice pop pop noise you hear shifting at high rpm. Not exactly sure what causes this.

Now you say you hear it from inside the car and its sounds like popping very quickly ..... is it coming from behind or around the glove box?
Could be MIAC (Marbles in the Can) or Sand in a blender problem <scratches head, mmmm maybe .. .mmm maybe not>

Any chance you can post an audio clip for us?
