Quick-lude...glad you're not worked up...:p
My point with the tires is that most of these 0-60 times are gotten by high rev clutch drops. Thus the traction from the rubber on the road plays a very big role in the times. There will always be faster cars than the one you own...I am hoping that the rx-8 has that bit of engineered "soul" that I find when I drive my Pro and even my MPV. |
Beaner,
I agree it's overall a better car...I believe we're thinking along the same lines, I'm just nit-picking the numbers. |
Again this is all just specualtion and talk without a dyno run of the exact engine in the car C&D tested.
But, hey come'on, we spend lots of time talking about Ferreri F360's and Porsche GT cars and speculating on unknown MazdaSpeed versions, etc......hey it's FUN. :p :D ;) Another thread had a link to this article at RotaryNews.Com (which is a nice news site): http://rotarynews.com/view.php?id=193 That had this interesting quote from a Mazda press conference: Q: One of Car & Driver's critisisms of the RX-8 was a lack of mid-range power. Is there any plan to address this issue? A: Pre production cars were "down on power." Wait until they drive a production car. |
