RX-8 needed for car show

Hey there.

Team Mazda is looking for a highly modified RX-8 to flaunt at the upcoming 2004 Northwood University International Auto Show, the largest outdoor new car show in North America. This year will mark the show’s 41st running and is expected to surpass benchmarks set in the past. Recent years have attracted over 50,000 attendees and growing.

All aspects of the NUIAS are completely student run and I’m privileged to be the Mazda captain this year.

If you are aware of any tuners/parts companies with an impressive RX-8 in their fleet, like JIC Magic, located in the eastern part of the United States or have any suggested contacts, please give me the heads up. Private vehicles will also be seriously considered. If you are seriously interested in the spotlight of your vehicle on October 8, 9 and 10, please email me at brazillj@northwood.edu or call 989.493.3897.

Regards

Jeff

First off...You might want to mention that its at the Michigan Campus (seeing as they have 3 campuses: Texas, Michigan, Florida)

Second: I'd offer my car, but it won't be completed by than. (as always, those interested can check out the work at devoid.mine.nu

What constitutes highly modified and how many highly modified RX-8's are out there? There wasnt a single RX-8 I would consider highly modified at Sevenstock thsi year unless you maybe count the Pettit supercharged car which I wouldn't call 210whp highly modified.

I read your faq and wanted to note that you have an error: "RX really stands for Rotary eXperimental", it should be updated to say Rotary eXport.

Car and Driver mislabled it as experimental in 1978 and it's since turned into an urban legend.

btw, are you having your black car painted white?

Highly modified in this cars case is relative. Being as this is a show and my job is to attract people to the Mazda display, an RX-8 with a decent amount of "show" or flashiness that distinguishes itself from stock RX-8 that will be on display next to it is preferred.

An RX-8 with stock body work, but has an impressive list of performance items (like suspension, engine, etc) would also draw that certain type of attention from the crowd and would be welcome at the show as well.

I’m very open on all types of styles and tastes being In the show. Get a hold of me and we can discuss any details. An RX-7, Spec Miata or turbo Miata are also welcome.

Gee I could put my snow tires back on ... but I don't think that would qualify it. :)

Do sleepers count as highly-modded? :)
