RX-8 in Mexico

It doesn't seem like the 8 is sold in Mexico; or at least it's not on the Mazda.com.mx website. Is this the case? any ideas why?

Last I recall the MPV was the best selling car down there. RX-8 = no room for drugs?

Brian: Hola, me llamo es Brian ... Nosotros queremos ir con ustedes.. uhhhh ...
Bellboy (Spanish): Hey, that was pretty good, except when you said "me llamo es Brian," you don't need the "es," just me llamo Brian.
Brian: Oh, oh you speak English!
Bellboy (sigh): No, just that first speech and this one explaining it.
Brian: You .... you're kidding me, right?
Bellboy (Spanish): Que?

The RX8 is too new, I believe theres a year law out there and your car cant be newer than a certain year. I dont know, I heard about it when I used to sell cars, dont remember the specifics.

kersh4w 09-15-2008 01:42 PM

not true at all.

the most popular car (for people with money) in el salvador is the mazda3.

Actually yes from my experience it takes almost 10 years to get a car that is out here. For instance a 98 model vehicle is like brand new over there. It has to do with import laws and rights to USA. Also you can import any vehicle but you will get a bigger registration fee unless its over 10 years old. (Source's Mexican friends that imported cars to Mexico.)

ha! I knew what I was talking about!

Puerto Rico has RX8's, I have seen a couple engine cores from there, everything is written in spanish luckily I was raised in california so I can understand a little bit of it.

DOMINION 09-16-2008 07:35 AM

^Yup some dudes on here had some with 3 rotors :smoker: Think they sold them :( Kick ass 8's

kersh4w 09-16-2008 10:52 AM

a few dudes on here have turbo 3 rotor rx8s...

and i figured the import laws to latin america dont really change country to country. if el salvador can have brand new 2009 models, why not mexico? mexico far and away the wealthier nation.
