Yeah, thanks.
I added them.

Maybe it's one bad job, maybe it's a pattern.
Hard to believe they'd still be doing rebuilds if they were that incompetent.

My first time posting a link on my phone but here goes.
These guys built my renesis had some issues but they owed it and fixed it. My experience was positive and I'd go back.
On the east coast of Canada in little Saint John NB we have -Saint John engine builders -

Rebuild Time? I'd Contact Rotary Resurrection

I put off the rebuild as long as I could, until the low compression "hot start" became unbearable (i.e., praying it didn't die at stop lights). Finally broke down and took the car to Rotary Resurrection in Morristown, TN and I couldn't be happier with the result. Kevin basically built a new engine except for the rotors, which were in good shape, and the car runs like new. Not only did he fix my engine problems but he installed a new clutch, fixed my malfunctioning headlight levelers, and repaired a damaged rear suspension, all for around $4000. He also sent photos showing every step of the process so I wasn't kept in the dark wondering what was going on. If you're looking for someone to get your RX8 up and running again, I highly recommend Kevin. If you want more info or have questions about my rebuild feel free to reply to this post and I'll gladly answer them. Or you can contact Kevin at https://www.rotaryresurrection.com/

Thanks for the info.

I'm curious, how long did they take between the time you left it and when it was ready?

Thanks BigC, for the effort to initialize and maintain this thread. I'm hoping to revive the spirit in my '04 and this thread gives me two good starting points.

Rotary Ressurections

I can vouch for Rotary Resurrections (http://www.rotaryresurrection.com/2ndgen/contact.html)
Kevin did my rebuild in June and I haven't had a single hiccup out of the engine. Matter of fact, while he had it he fixed a couple of suspension problems for me and replaced a worn clutch. Great guy and his work is immaculate!

People might also want to review the experiences of others regarding some rotary rebuild vendors from RX7Club, as they’ve been around the block quite a few more times than anyone here. Especially since just any old link is being posted here with the vague warning to do your own research first:

just FYI that Daryl is now mostly retired with the exception of a certain few past customers. IMO he is a legend for Renesis race engine work and knowledge. 50+ years of rotary engine experience and well known in racing circles, his influence and race engine work places him in an upper echelon of a very few, rare individuals.

No... please read what i actually wrote.

To summarize here too...

Bro, I said Mazda Motorsports does that... not Tasca.

Mazda Motorsports can sell NEW engines... or rebuilt engines but they can't give you the core charge back for the rebuilt engines.

Tasca can only sell rebuilt engines and they will give you the core charge back.
