Rest

My car will be resting alone for 7 months I'm in Japan now and prior to leaving last week my day of depression was filled with a car cover and disconnecting the battery...anyway what are the chances of problems trying to start the car in late July?

Ummm just change your fluids before you drive....plug the battery back and wahlah should start without a problem....

Did you put Anything under your tires? I had my car on a lift ....left for Iraq a week after I bought it lol...started up fine afterwards

nope nothing under the tires

As long as you have disconnected the battery ,the only thing that might be a problem is a dead battery. Is it going to be indoors? Fuel could be an issue. Use as much fuel as possible, don't leave it with a full tank. Gas has a tendancy to change into varnish. If someone one can drive it and put new fuel in it, it should be OK. When you start it just let it idle for a few minutes before tapping the gas pedal. That is about all I would do. Engine oil change would be a good idea. Enjoy your time in Japan ,and we want pic's.

rest

Its got about 3/4 of a tank and the car is outside and the chances of someone starting it up are as high as you going to a beetles concert so thats not happening :) I will start taking pics when we head out to honk kong in 2 weeks thanks for the info

My concern would be the quality of the gas that is in it now after about 7 months. Gas has a tendancy to deteriorate. It will not be good when you get back. I would run it down as far as possible before parking it.

I forget the product but I've seen it advertised on Speed on several occasions that is made specificly for stored vechicles for long periods of time. States it will keep the gasoline from detiorating as it were. Forget the exact science of it all so I wont get into something I know little about but I'd say look into this product.

Yes, there is definitely such a thing. Motorcyclists are always saying you should put it in when you store your motorcycle for the winter. But since I always ride in the winter, I've never done it.

Here's a link with info for the stuff I use in my boat - Sta-bil... It's been docked for quite a while with over 100 gallons left out of 250, and I don't run it enough now to use up that much.

You should be able to get it anywhere.
