Recommendation on Shocks/Struts
2004 at 54K miles and the back struts are worn pretty good and leaking oil. Looking to replace at least the backs and probably the fronts as well.
My local shop can get good prices on KYB, Bilstein, and Koni. I'll probably keep the stock springs on and it's a daily driver as well. Which one would you guys suggest between the 3 or should I be looking at some other options? Thanks, Paul |
KYB. most of the time it comes with a lifetime warranty. so you can go thru whatever potholes and u can replace it for free (assume you can replace it yourself)

I really like my bilstien hds that I have now but it will stiffen up the ride quite a bit and make you feel every little crack in the road
|
All 3 are good, just don't cut your springs :suspect:

Out of those three, my choice would be Bilstein

I was thinking the Koni's since the firmness can be adjusted. I know the fronts can be adjusted without taking them off, but the backs have to be taken off.
The Bilstein's seem to be the consensus as they were also recommended by the shop guys at the place where I do my work. |
Over last 10 year I had:
- Two sets of Koni's yellow (adjustable) - all of them leaked. Koni said minor leaks are normal :Wconfused - Two sets of Bilsteins No issues and I love them! Bilsteins + OEM springs = somewhat firm and very well controlled ride. Unless you autocross Koni adjustments may be irrelevant for you. |
