So I got everything together and tried to start it after priming and resetting ess an all that. When I turn the key I get nothing at all. No click no cranking nothing. The starter will not do anything so I check it and there is power getting down there and the starter does spin. Any suggestions besides the small switch wire. I’m gonna check that in the morning.

Can you turn the engine by hand (or with an appropriate length of pipe)?

Yes it turns Nicely. I think the problem is a ground, power or fuse problem. The starter has power but will not trigger when I turn the key. It doesn’t engage and it doesn’t spin or click or move.

Ok so I got it cranking by cleaning the terminals on the starter. Now it cranks but only kicks a little. It will not start. I checked plugs and they are getting fuel. and I am getting little puffs of smoke out of the exhaust pipes. Would it be ok to pull start a fresh rebuild that hasn’t been running yet. Please help me

What do you mean "only kicks a little"?

Are the fuel injectors and spark plugs and coils all connected correctly? People seem to mess this up all the time, so while you get fuel, you're not getting it at the right time.

One example of the labeling I did while removing the engine. And by kick a little I mean it is firing and puffing a little smoke from tail pipes. Could it be low compression because it hasn’t been started. I read a lot that a rebuild can be hard to start. Maybe pull it? I just don’t want to hurt anything.

I’m not getting any spark. All coils fire when cranking? I checked T and L on front rotor and no spark. Any suggestions or ideas. Please help

Dead coils or no signal from the eccentric shaft sensor. Or a fuse.

What fuse do you recommend checking. Does sensor ground through the mounting screw and how would I check to see if there is a signal

Plugin an OBD reader and see if it displays any rpm, and while you're at it what the airflow while cranking is.

The maf is that what your looking for. And the rpm were about 275-300. I’m not sure if the maf reading is accurate I find the live data better to watch while cranking. I’ll watch that tomorrow and take down numbers

I got my spark back also figured out my tb was stuck closed so it flooded. I removed and cleaned all grounds as well as ad a body to engine on the plug side. It’s so close to starting now. She’s getting angry because she won’t start and that’s what you want. This car needs to be angry lol

It’s so close to starting it’s right there. It just seems like there is not enough power by boosting with a small car. (New starter)

That’s it I’m pulling it. Should be fine. I won’t bump it I’ll just pull slow in second and let it roll. Any concerns guys?

That MAF reading is low if my conversion to grams per second is right. And yes just pull it and pop the clutch and once it is running drive it for a while.

Busy last few days but this weekend I’m getting back at her with a few more suggestions that we’re brought up.
So I’m gonna try cleaning the maf again drain the gas and put new stuff in because there was about a quarter tank many more of 1 1/2 year old gas with some storage treatment stuff. But I fill the rest of the tank with new gas so I thought it would be fine (prob not). And if she doesn’t start on her own then she’s going on a leash and going for a stroll.

Did you already try adding a dab of oil through the spark plug holes? A LITTLE, you don't need to hydrolock it, just to improve sealing a bit.

No I haven’t yet. I had a friend helping me and he said it won’t do much. I argued about how the boys in the club said to try it. I will be trying it this weekend before trying to pull it.

She started today. I put a little more oil in the spark plug holes and bumped it. It fired right up but would not idle. Any suggestions on that or do I have to run few cycles to get the trims back for the new engine.
