Is this really true???!!

hey guys lately ive been talking to people or worked on rx8 and ive also visit the mazda dealer and ive ask them this question many times and it is that is it true that one the rx8 hit 30k mileage or every 30k mileage it needs a new engine replacement? is this true or just a roomer.

RX8inSTL 09-25-2010 02:42 PM

Yea. Once you hit 30k the engine stops working.

bse50 09-25-2010 02:43 PM

Why don't you go waste somebody else's time? thanks.

Lol yup, through some engineering phenomena, the engine was built that as soon as it hits its 30,000th mile, it dies. I feel bad for the guys who are seeing 29,999 on the odo right now :wallbash:

the roar of a GTR V8 rotary turbo ,with headers and pistons !

FastFreddy61 09-25-2010 03:07 PM

Roomer has it, the Dilithium crystals in the starboard plasma conduits start to degenerate, this in turn causes the warp drive to fail.
No mate, some engines fail, some dont, mileage differs from engine to engine, I just read a post where the owner has 180,000 miles (believe it or not ) on the original motor. Use the search icon at the top of the page, and the Force will be with you.

socompro 09-25-2010 03:10 PM

ok well thanks for the great news guys because this same problem has been scaring me i hope it doesnt happen to me and i have a exotic speed exhaust and intake aslo agency power pulleys and exotic speed headers =) mspeed kit FTW

Year 2010 and we are still getting this shit

DocBeech 09-26-2010 01:09 AM

its an offly big hill it has to roll down first... plus all the civic so on and so fourth ricers spread rumors...

Cylestyne 09-26-2010 02:02 AM

The 30k engine replacement is right there in the manual in the maintenance time line. Don't forget the 50k fusion reactor replacement.

nycgps 09-26-2010 08:07 AM

at 30K, yes, you need to replace your engine.

at 60 K, you need to replace the engine and the Vtec System

at 90K, well, of course u gotta replace the engine, VVT-i and timing belt

at 120K, engine, VteC system, camshaft, all the pistons, and head gaskets.

at 150K, Mazda wants you to buy a new car. so the car will just self destruct. on its own, just make sure you're not in the car when this happens.

You miss the power steering fluid reservoir replacement.

Mazurfer 09-26-2010 09:28 AM

Sunday morning............what the hell.
I actually considered this post/thread for my strangest post/thread of the month, until I ran into this one.

https://www.rx8club.com/lounge-4/strangest-post-month-205325/

socompro 09-26-2010 09:38 AM

ok because mines is at 35k so i guess mines is fine since it got replaced already

socompro 09-26-2010 09:40 AM

so basically this rumor is true about the every 30k mileage somethings needs to be replaced?

Mazurfer 09-26-2010 09:54 AM

Wow..........I really can't tell if you are kidding or not. At least you have fairly thick skin!

Here's the truthful answer to your last post..............."No".

I think you should go read these.

https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/congratulations-you-got-8-a-202548/

https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-forum-197/new-potential-owners-start-here-202454/

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=FAQ

Now, having said all the above, it's all personal opinion, but I change my plugs at least every 15k miles(and that's a stretch)..........and if I was on OEM coils, I would change them at about 25-30k miles.

BUT..........this doesn't mean you have to do so at all. There are many people that get way more miles out of these things, and then there are people that keep driving on older possibly worn out items, and this leads to further complications.

Money really isn't an object for me, so I'm just not going to take the chance.

Bottom line is....you will get all sorts of opinions, so go read those three threads a.d you shall become enlightened.......IMO.

Bluerenesis 09-26-2010 06:19 PM

Remember guys, we get all kinds of walks of life here. Those who post incredibly strange questions though should expect some kind of negative responses. I am sure the one who was posting is pretty young. Just my guess. Maybe his friends were talknig about ignition coils and he heard wrong.

DocBeech 09-26-2010 06:43 PM

ignition coils, flux capacitor, blinker fluid, muffler bearings.

me and my dad actually had a parts store looking for two weeks for a radiator on a 1964 vw bug...

socompro 09-28-2010 01:56 PM

TiffanyLillian 09-28-2010 02:57 PM

If so, mine would of died along time ago....... No...I'm at 93,500miles in my car and she runs perfect!

RIWWP 09-28-2010 02:58 PM

I was on the test drive for my inspection before registration renewal. The guy was about to fail me because my taillight fluid level was too low.

But then the VFAD kicked in, and i passed with flying colors.
