Radio Kaput 2009

I have a 2009 rx8. Its been a wonderful car.
The stock oem radio quit today.
BUT its not the radio, it still comes on, AM/FM CD functions
are all there but no sound. I suspect its not the radio but
the audio amp. Is the audio amp a separate unit on the RX8
like other cars? No Beeps in beep mode, blue tooth no sound.
I can't hear the audio background noise that is always there
real low lever. Anyway you get the picture, radio its self seems
ok, but no sound.

It did this a week ago for a short while, a in a later trip in the
day it worked. So it is probably not a fuse issue. Bad Connector?
anyway the question is, is this a known issue? also where is
the audio amp anyway

THANKS

pretty sure its all built in. Easy to remove and replace with an aftermarket head unit. Or unplug it and blow in in the connector like an old nintendo.

good luck

Not a year too late and wrong answer. You'll be fine here :)

Yes, sounds like your amp is the issue. Does your car have Bose Audio?

My bose Amp went to crap and it can be fixed. There is a service on ebay that troubleshoots and fixes RX8 Bose amps for around 200$. Which is a lot cheaper than getting a new S2 Bose amp (also I think those amps are no longer available from the dealership).
