quick question on engine duration

Hi, I was considering buying an 04 rx8. yes money is a bit of an issue but putting that aside, I was wondering how long I should expect the rotary engine to last if well maintained. I tried running a search but I couldn't really find what I was looking for. I'm guessing around 100k? Is this a safe estimate? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

this is a new design, so it's hard to tell, and any numbers given would be guesstimates.

We can assume from the previous NA rotaries that you can expect 200k to be reachable, but due to other factors (your driving, climate, maintenance, etc), that may be too high, or too low a number.

I'd say it's safe to say 100k is lowballing it.

I am pleased to report that I had a discussion with the car today to address this very issue. After a brief negotiation, we settled on 55 years or 750,000 miles, whichever came first. That is how much the engine department decided it would work before retirement age, based upon current working conditions.

If any Renesis would like to work for me, I am an EEO employer and maintain a relaxed work atmosphere. There are full benefits available for selected powertrain components and chassis. Interested applicants can electronically submit their resume through email.
