89 and im comfortable with that. Experts say 91 is "recommended" not "required". I just use 89 for my daily drives, but for spirited drives I use 92 which is what we have here in WA.

Just try all, see which is best for your car, judging from older threads you really cant draw a conclusion, some say 87, 89, 91, 93, 94, race gas......... and so on, each engine seem to be different =d

93 V-Power, some local stations try to sell 91 for the same price as 93, but I want that last 2 octane dammit. That's at least a half of hp. I believe were up to $2.98 today.

I use 93 Octane all the time.... Even though gas prices are rising, just to be on the safe side I follow what the book says.... In some cases they have seen engine knocking and performance loss.... who knows, i'm just being safe! But like everyone said just try everything

I assume you are not trying to be sarcastic here, I'm living in petrol paradise, it only cost $US 0.4 for a litre of 97 RON.

What burns faster, 93 or 87? My engine rattle is still there, I'm thinking about experimenting with 87 for a while to see if the pinging goes away at all.

87 burns faster, if you ping at 93 something is wrong

Yo Rap, where do u get ur 93?
Its only 91 around here, so I buy Octane Boosters to grade it up.

Don't they put extra ethanol or something too? Seems to make gas mileage worse for rx8s in cali
