quick question
My father has an '06 RX8 with 1200 miles. He's considering upgrading to the performance exhaust from Mazda and wants to sell the existing exhaust (complete from the cat converter back to the tips) to help defray the cost of the Mazda performance exhaust.
I looked up under the car & the exhaust looks like it's brand new. Even the donut bolts in front of the catylitic converter are not corroded so it'll come off easily. Is there a market for this? If so, can anyone give me a feel for what a fair value would be? Thanks! |
none at all. some have tried selling, others tried giving it away, and most gave up. have him hang onto it should he ever want to sell the car and get it back to stock and then sell the exhaust separately.

^what he said :) If you want to make the stock exhaust useful while it's off the car, you can do what one member did and make a hanging ceiling lamp out of it.

There's no such thing as an RX-8 with a worn-out exhaust system yet. They're all 3.5 years old or less. Maybe later?

Scrap.....
No, the only way to realise some value is, like CTrx8 said, save to old one for when you sell, then get good money for the aftermarket one, there seems to be lots of buyers....(though why someone would pay almost retail for a USED exhaust, I don't see it....Eeeewwww!)
If you go that route, put lots of anti-seize compound on the hardware, so it comes off nicely in a few years. S |
