Questions about tail light (or brake light)

My left brake light isn't functioning so I need to replace it. I was wondering if it was better to have to dealership do it since I'm going in for an oil change in a week or two,or just buy the bulb and do it myself. I've looked at some threads that explains the procedure and it seemed simple enough.

Also, where is the best place to buy the bulb? I know a lot of people recommend Online Mazda Parts for OEM parts but their descriptions are a little hard to follow. So I was looking HERE
I was wondering if that was the right part, called Stop lamp bulb back.

Another question is... only my left bulb is out and my right one and the center one work fine. Should I replace all the brake bulbs?

Oh... one more question... How often do people's brake light bulb go out? I bought my car in August 2006 and it has about 27k miles on it. Is that normal?

really?

ok...buy the bulb at any store incluing walmart/pep boys whatever. Easy to replace the bulb it's just a matter of removing the plastic backing in the front of the trunk and twisting out the bulb...i think bulbs burn out randomly and really doesn't have anything to do with your mileage - and the other bulbs are fine leave them...

p.s. don't go to the dealer unless it's for warranty work....keep your receipts

The chart in the owner's manual says it's a 7443, which is a standard bulb type. You should find one in any auto parts store, and possibly at a place like WalMart. Replace it yourself. Don't wait a couple of weeks.

Bulb life is random. Just replace the one that's burned out. Wouldn't hurt to get a spare and keep it in the car, though. Bulbs often come in two-packs.

Honestly all the bulbs in the 8 are pretty simple to replace IMO
