Question about 04 Rx8

Hey guys I just got my 04 rx8 6 speed with 150k miles 3 days ago and I love it..the engine is still strong..i also own a 05 350z..thing is it is only 2 seated so i bought this..anyways i have no problems with the rx8.. no check engine light..the only thing is on is the red thing under the oil meter? what does that mean? it goes and comes..anyways do you think i can still put a turbo in it or is it not worth it for the fact that it has 150k? the engine has been rebuilt by mazda so i think it has less millage than what it says on the dashboard? I'm planning to buy an used engine straight from Japan with 30k-60k miles later on..here is a pic..thanks

Mod edit: Removed the pics, re-post them when you have them resized to something reasonable

I deleted the pictures from your post. Re-post them when you have them a more reasonable size.

You have a long way to go though. Lots of reading ahead of you. I am 100% serious when I mean that if you are not prepared to AT LEAST read the first 9 posts of this thread (https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...t-here-202454/) and the first 11 posts of this thread (https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...rx-8-a-233937/), then you are in for lots of pain and headache doing what you want to do.

The quick short answers though:

A) The "red thing under the oil meter" is probably a warning light. Could be a couple. Check post number 8 in the first thread I linked to see which light it is. Or your owner's manual. If you don't have one, get one for free from MazdaUSA.com

B) Turbo-charging is not for the faint of heart. Read the first 3 posts of the 2nd thread I linked for why, and what you are facing. These engines don't take well to more power of any type, especially turbos.

C) Mazda remans are some of the lowest quality engine rebuilds out there, and are generally NOT suitable for forced induction.

D) For the cost of shipping a "used engine from Japan", you can probably get a quality zero mileage rebuild from a vendor here in the US.

Nevermind about re-posting the pics in this thread. I just closed it to keep the hyenas at bay.

Do a bunch of reading, then post more serious questions in the appropriate section when you get them. Or this thread if you think they are common, stupid, or don't know where to ask them: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...llowed-208221/
