Problems, What to do?Help

Ok for a little while now I have noticed that sometimes when I stop and put the car in neutral, by the way I have the manual transmission, the RPMs will drop below 750 and the car will vibrate a little (like I'm letting out on the clutch and it's about to stall) but not too much and then automaticly it revs and brings the RPMs back up. I thought it might be the rough idle I heard about, from the guys on the forum. So it's bothered me but it only happens from time to time, I need to take it in to change the oil and get that checked out anyway. But today I pull up to this light and I'm in neutral and I cut the DSC off, because I was going to have a little fun and show how much quicker it accelerates with it off, when the car completely cuts off like it stalled out, but I didn't do anything except turn off the DSC. So first why did it do that? Second what's wrong with it? And third what do I do to correct it? Thanks guys.

Sounds like a good reason for taking it in for the "M" patch. You didn't indicate the MFG date so it is hard to tell just how old your version. I just had mine done and it definitely starts and runs much smoother. Are you running high test or the 87 level?

what do you mean high test or 87 level, if you mean octane 93 premium?

Now something else happened. I don't know if this has to deal with the above problem. I'm driving down a back road and feel like showing how the thing accelarates without the DSC on, since I didn't get to before. I'm running the gears through and taking each to about 7 to 8 thousand RPMs before shifting I'm in 4th doing 102 at about 8 thousand RPMs and I start to slow it down when the engine light comes on and the engine cutsoff. What happened. I didn't hear a buzzer or see a light and it didn't look like I did so I'm pretty sure I didn't hit the Redline. My best guess, if it's something simple is the spark plugs couldn't handle it and couldn't cause ignition. Why did this happen, why did the engine cut off?

Pull your intake and try again.

you think it's my intake?

Read all the posts on the K&N --- your problems are classic examples. You may just need to reposition the MAF sensor to clear up the issues. This is why I put in a drop in filter (at least for now).

do you have a link to one of these treads, and what do you mean reposition the MAF sensor, reposition it how?

I've never had my engine to cut off, but my 8 does duplicate the sudden idle drop after a stop at times. It sputters a second then revs itself back up. This is while in Neutral or 1st.
I use 93 octane and have the L flash.

I was just driving down the road and I was braking and gearing down to stop at a stop sign when the engine cut off and I wasn't doing more than 25 mph so I know it's not the intake.

Engines need Fuel, air, and Spark to run correctly. Think about which one you've modified.

For me, no mods done by my hand. :(

Meow-
Not sure on yours, but i'd definitely see if you can get the "m" flash.
My response was definitely aimed at Horse, and not in a smartass kind of way. I agree with RXhusker that the intake sounds like it might be the problem.

Troubleshooting rule of thumb: eliminate any changes you have made in order to rule them out. It works for computers, and usually works for cars too!

got the m-flash and so far no problems.
