Price cuts on RX-8 !!!

Anyone know if or when Mazda will be cutting the prices on the 2005 RX-8?

I looked at an 2004 RX-8 last year and they had about $7,000 off sticker price after the 2005's came out.

I am SICK of waiting and want to get mine ASAP.

Thanks.

Local dealer just emailed me, 05 RX-8 $7000 below MSRP. Go get it.

strokercharged95gt 11-28-2005 08:11 PM

i bought my 2004 when the 2005 were out. MSRP was 35,000 and i got mine fully loaded for 26,400

lesper4 11-28-2005 08:44 PM

I would wait I got an 04 when the 05 were coming out, msrp 33000 paid 26000 very similar to above. Be patient unless you can find one for about that price.

naperillini 11-28-2005 08:47 PM

Just received an email quote of $26900 on an MSRP of $33K in Chicago. Think I can do better still....

Groo 11-28-2005 10:42 PM

I think I need to stop visiting the Price forum, lol. No matter when you buy a car, it always gets cheaper!

$6,100 off MSRP sounds decent enough, but if people are getting $7k off you can probably find better. Although you might have to do some harder searching- just because one or two dealers in the country want to unload at that price doesn't mean others are willing to. I would also make sure you get the mileage of the car they are quoting you- you don't want to show up and find your "new" car has several hundred miles on it (or maybe you don't care- just something to be aware of).

Arweg 11-28-2005 10:48 PM

I got mine in May, 04 with three hundred miles on it. MSRP $32. got them down to $24

mamccubbin 11-29-2005 01:24 AM

I got mine right when it came out and paid 33K. So there, I paid the most so far! Go me!

The December incentives will be out soon. I'd wait a few more days. Make sure you can still find the car you want, though. I bought mine at $5200 off MSRP, but it was the car I wanted. I wanted the red/black interior and there weren't a whole lot of them left. I would have settled for another car with the touring package only, but I wouldn't have been as happy. Just make sure you get what you want - don't settle for something else.

We just bought ours about 3 weeks ago. Sticker was $30K and change, we paid $24,4K

toca 11-29-2005 07:12 AM

my 05s msrp was 32 k got mine for 26,700 but i got the s plan that s makes thw dealer sell it to u for base invoice no tmatter what .

RX-Aight 11-29-2005 11:56 AM

well that settles it; i'm calling tomorrow the only problem is that there are 2 cars in the area that i want but they are about 90 minutes from here.

i live in charlotte with TWO dealers with NOTHING so i have to drive to Greensboro and get it... only prob is i can't drive two cars at once!

Do you think i could work out something with a local dealer where they could get it here or maybe they could sell it to me?

i know sometimes they will only cut a deal on a vehicle on the lot so i don't know...

thanks

You might as well give it a shot. I'd tell your local dealer you are going to buy this car, it's just a matter of if they can get it, or if you head to another dealer.

Generally the best deals are on cars sitting on the dealer lots. They lose money every day they don't sell on the interest for the loans.

90 minutes isn't bad. Take a buddy along. They should be happy to join you in the adventure (especially if you promise to buy them lunch).

In fact, it can be good strategy to take a wingman to back you up. I played wingman for a buddy of mine who had felt harrassed after one trip to a car dealer so he took me with him on trip #2.

I drove 300 miles to go get the deal I wanted, but I was able to negitiate the price I wanted out of my trade-in vehicle before I made the trip.

Will i just called the place and they said they'd drop if from 33,694 to 29,164 plus TTT.

Are they holding out? i told them I'd come up there for 27K ish ... so that's about 6700 off.

Do they give an incentive for college grads? i think i remember them saying something about that last time i talked to the guy.

Will they have more cash off in DEC? it's only 2 days away.

HELP. I've been waiting for like 6 months and want one NOW.

Thanks

RX-Aight 11-30-2005 12:37 PM

No longer are they doing the college grad incentive. Some random marketing campaign.

I guess that sucks...

hemanrulez 11-30-2005 01:38 PM

yeah the college grad incentives stopped in March.

I'd wait till December or even Jan if you can. Read my post on the purchasing forum.

Mazda says the 06's wont be out till Feb next year and till they start rolling in the 05's wont really drop drastically in price unless Mazda starts giving dealers more cash and or rebates.

This month the RX-8 has no rebates.

Lemme know what you find. We can discuss notes and both try and hit upon a good deal.

My wife and I got 8100K off the sticker price. Couldn't refuse that deal so we got one.

New or used? Dealer or private party? Any options at all? Sometimes they add options, even to base models. My "Touring" model has ever option in th GT package expect the leather/heated seats so the price would seem way to high for a regular Touring model.

Mugatu's #1 pet peeve is failure to search. My #1 pet peeve is incomplete information.
:nono:

;)

Jeager76 12-01-2005 12:39 PM

It was just a simple ad in the paper no other info (they did give a model number)

It was a 2005 auto (it did say that)

Be patient my friend. Good things do come to those who wait. If you waited six months, you can wait another few weeks. By then the dealer will be more than willing to make you a good deal on the RX you want. After all they do not want to pay additional taxes as it sits on their lot. A car is a mixed blessing to a dealer. One...is is a liability if it doesn't sell and 2...it is fantastic when it does, especially if they can screw the customer. Your RX has your name on it.

Jeager76 12-01-2005 02:08 PM

When are they going to annouce the new dealer incentives?
