possible cracked rotor housing
gday pals, got me some dramas i need a bit of help with.
long story short (well ill try to) been needing to top up coolant quite a bit lately, with no external leaks (obviously its going inside =[) tried to start the 8 up yesterday and after several attempts i tried all the de flooding procedures, thinking it was severelly flooded. removed the spark plugs and gave it a crank to piss off any excess unburnt fuel and to the ultimate fml moment a good 600ml coke bottle of coolant decided to come pissing out of the plugs in the rear rotor housing. im going to rip the motor out of the car next week and break it down. The quick questions i have are these. Is there some sort of a seal/gasket inbetween the chambers were water could be leaking from? or is a cracked rotor housing the only explanation? ive been hunting for motors/front cuts (just incase the ultimate fml turns out to be a cracked rotor housing) but am having trouble finding decent places. Would prefer to go jdm or usdm as theyre relativley low km's and affordable. If anyone has had any experience or know of good places/sites to contact i would be really greatful. Also are the motors interchangeable? my 8 is an 03 6speed, so pretty much what im asking would an 05 or anyother mt engine fit? if it is just a seal, mazda has quoted me for a master rebuild kit for $860aud. as im going into the motor anyway thought id mightaswell go all out in a rebuild provided its not a crack, and nothing has warped/distorted. Any help would be appreciated, but please leave the smartass remarks with your misses =] thanks guys :biggthump Dan |
u don't even know how the engine works
search is ur friend |
That's a side seal, they go if the engine overheats, and you get coolant in there. It's a whole rebuild.

Guys the kind of responses to Dans13b is totally out of order. Help the guy please!
|
the kind of respond is exactly what he deserves
|
definitely isnt the kind of response he deserves, aren't forums mainly used for trouble shooting? i dont think everyone knows exactly what route the coolant takes in and around the engine. so if you do know why he has coolant in his rotor housing then why not share?

sure most of us here is more than willing to help but ONLY if u actually shown us that you did your part first ----- if u don't do shit and just sit there and scream for help AKA wants us to spoon feed you with info, well, I'm not sure about how others feel but for me, I would NEVER help anybody like that. he wants to break the engine open without even know how the engine is put together, morons like this will just create more problems and guess what happens next ? ----- he will blame the car , not his own dumb self. |
