Possible clutch, bearing or transmissino issue?

I have been letting my gf learn manual on my RX8 a few times the past 2-3 weeks. She's not exactly good at it and stalls every now and then especially when she hesitates. She also seems to chirp from a stop when she gets nervous about stalling. She jams it into gear every now and then, not that she grinds it or forces it, but her shifts aren't smooth or rev matched.

Well the past week I have been getting the slight marble rolling in a can noise every now and then when I'm accelerating normally in gear (2nd, 3rd or 4th) around the 3k RPM range. Also I have noticed a squeaking sound coming from the transmission area when the clutch is let out. When the clutch is depressed, the squeak goes away. Even when I am in first gear, it squeaks at RPMs below 2k. I get the normal whirring when it's in neutral with the clutch out.

What could be going on here?

its probably the throw out bearing. i had the same problem.

I was thinking the same after searching. I haven't found much useful into about the squeaking because its not the clutch pedal that's squeaking. It shifts just fine btw.

it took me 3 throw out bearings before i finally got it to stop squeaking. all but one were brand new and the used one was the only one that didnt squeak. go figure.

I guess something like this can wait. It just started squeaking and it just sounds like an old alternator belt for now.

i bet a bmw 3 series doesnt have a problem with throw out bearings.

The "squeak" is the slave cylinder pin on the disengagement fork pivot.
Just shoot some grease on it and it will stop.

Disengagement bearings ("throw-out") don't squeak. If you manage to get the squeak to stop by replacing the DB, its because you have adequately addressed the fork pivot lube problem accidentally.

Is there a DIY thread to this? I remember seeing a thread with a diagram but I couldn't seem to find it tonight via searching.

So what about the slight "marbles in a can" noise. I got the same thing, but in 2nd, 4th, and 6th...is that the throw out bearing?

Found the thread for the fork squeak. Bumped it if anyone else is interested. Now I just got to figure out the type of grease to use.

I had the same problem with my clutch and it turned out to be a faulty pressure plate. I initially thought it was the throwout bearing too. They replaced the entire clutch assembly under my Mastertech warranty since the pressure plate isn't a wear item. I'm so glad i decided to get it cause the dealer invoice said it would have cost me almost a grand. lol
