Is it possible to buy an rx8 "shell" from mazda?

I'm basically looking for a chassis that I can build upon for building another rx8 (for track).

I would still require a VIN in order to register/title the car.

Everything I've found online is either too damaged (major damage) or not damaged enough (minor cosmetic damage).

Where as depending on the price of such a chassis (if available), I could swap donor parts (excluding interior) to the chassis.

Anyone know of such an option to buy an rx8 before its equipped with parts/paint?

I have never heard of this.

A dealer is not going to know... Ther eis no manner i know of to do so. My best recomendation is to keep scouring ebay for one iwht a blown engine/and or tranny

Ask these guys how they did it then.

You could, but its going to be bloody expensive and might be cheaper for you to just buy a clear title used Rx-8 and strip it

You can buy a 'body in white' from Mazda Competition.

Given the price it might make more sense to just get a real car and part/dismantle it, but it depends on how much your time is worth.

Pretty sure they do not come with a VIN and are not registrable as a street vehicle.

If it is strictly for track use why worry about registration? Don't want to tow the car in? If you can live without a VIN you might be able to order a Carbon Fiber body from one of the race teams.

he could, but for *regular racers*, its just not worth it to get a *body* and have to redo everything.

Hell if u get a used clear rx-8, u can strip the body and sell the rest of the stuff and its probably cheaper than getting a *just body* from Mazdamotorsports.
