A-pillar cigarette burn

Okay, I know smoking is bad, harmful, evil, indecent, awful, wrong, stinky, rotten, smelly, bad and idiotic...but I was having a puff in my 2005 BB while waiting for the Homeland Security boys to nail the seniors in Honda Accords at the U.S./Canada border to Niagara Falls when I lit up a butt. It was a two hour wait because that's where the WMD are coming from....Welland, Ontario. And sure enough, I trailed my heater along the driver-side A-pillar. Now I have a nice black reminder of my early death. Any ideas about removing this tar from the nice smooth interior pillar?

Yeah, smoking is wrong. WMD's are wrong. Glad ya checked my trunk. Hope the tire spray doesn't count as a WMD. Big yellow ribbon, remember our troops, etc.

Smoking is not necessarily wrong. I mean as long as you're not harming others and you like smoking, then so be it. Those Homeland Security hacks are a waste of money, do they really think these "terrorists" are idiots? Homeland is just there to waste mine and yours time. Screw the big yellow ribbon, we need to stop "remembering" them, and just keep them alive. Bring 'em home I say.

For the A-pillar, I would first find out what material its made out of before using any sort of solution on it. Have you tried a bathroom napkin and some water?

Yeah dude who cares what the hell other people think. My Dad has been smoking from the age of 13 with no prob :smoker: As for the A-Piller use some interier cleaner and you should be good. I think meguiars makes a good one that you can use that one on like scuffs and stuff. Its a cram in a spray bottle. Hope that works for ya :sadwavey:

pics of the "tar" if the plastic is melted.. youre pretty much screwed.

Dd it burn or just leave an ash mark? Most cleaners will take out the mark but if it's burned,,, "Say goodnight Dick" and buy a new one.

If it is actually a burn then no amount of cleaner will remove it. You will just have a cleaner burn. And if you don't do it right you can actually make it worse. The only thing you can do is have it repaired.

or you can buy a new one and replace it. think its like 25 bucks at onlinemazdaparts.

The magic answer seems to be Mr. Clean's Magic sponge...you know those bricks made of material I don't understand to take the scuffs off your apartment paint? Seems to work on the two spots left by my heater. Thanks for the replies. Smoking is now banned from my automobile!

NgoRX8 07-04-2006 08:29 PM

it has always been banned in mine :)

I actually quit smoking when I bought my 8....
It was kind of a trade-off and an agreement with the wife...
