how about the whole computer????

Stavesacre21 03-24-2007 03:04 AM

heck, mazda can hardly get a handle on the engine with THEIR reflashes. I certainly wouldn't trust my engine to a system based off the principle of squeezing every HP out of your engine by any means possible.

Sounds like a very messy ending to me.

i've got like ten of those badboys, pushing out 400whp

knight7 03-25-2007 03:29 AM

with the proper money you can get 500 hp out our engines. its just that anything over would heat up the aluminum and bend the block.

Racing Beat has a reflash if you send in your ECU. Here is a link.

Another option might be found here:

http://www.canzoomer.com/

Being fairly new to the RX8 scene, it looks like the Canzoomer was an early player when the RX8 first came out. I don't see much about it in any late-dated posts, but their site appears to be up-to-date.Other than that there are other piggy-back tuning solutions that are typically used by folks going with forced induction (FI).

Sounds like the RB or CZ options might best fit your needs.

the CZ is basically on old E-manage blue and it has trouble making the changes "stick" because the PCM will eventually learn around them.
the RB flash doesn't do anything except raise the redline and turn the radiator fans on sooner (which is good), but you'll be lucky to see more than 4-rwhp if even, and it's overwritten and gone if you get a reflash done at a dealership. Save your pennies for the COBB Tuning AccessPort, hopefully it will be here soon

Man, I was doing a little background on the CZ and here is a link to a little testing RXtuner did. Its not really a very positive reference for the CZ.

I thought the RB flash also provided fuel and timing re-map after 5000 rpm or something like that? I knew it raised the redline and turned on the fans sooner, but also thought it provided some performance gains in the high-end, with no changes in the low end at all. As far as the Cobb, as a past AP user I think this would be great... its just a question of when and if it ever comes out.
