Does anyone else have a problem with water getting inside of their 8's headlight housings?
What to do? |
Mine did for the first week or so, but they stopped doing that. Tail lights stopped also.

It is true that standing water should never be in there, and that water from rain or washing shouldn't enter the housing. What WILL happen sometimes is condensation. The humidity in the air inside the headlight assembly will condense and possibly collect on the lense, from the inside. The headlight unit is not sealed, by design. For example, a 2004 Ford Crown Vic has a sealed headlight assembly. When moisture is introduced into them (failed gasket, crack etc.) it takes forever to evaporate. The RX8's are not sealed units. So under certain conditions condensation will occur, however quickly evaporate when possible. They are designed to breathe. With that said I find it annoying that condensation does occur at all inside the lenses. Whether or not it is a design flaw or not......a new or replaced unit will do the same thing...under the proper circumstances. |
Mine do that also. If it doesn't go away soon I'll take it to the dealer.

never had that problem either....take it to the dealer asap i'd say.
