Parking brake turns on sometimes

The parking brake light turns on sometimes even when the handbrake is down.

Sometimes the light would stay on until I hit a bump or something or turn around a corner.

In this case the parking brake light comes on after I press on the brake

Any ideas?

From what i can tell by my parking brake, the sensor is very sensitive. I notice when i just bump my brake lever, the light would flash. When i say bump it, it is from hitting it horizontal and not vertical.

I haven't looked to mod it yet since the only time mine comes on is if i hit the e-brake lever.

Sounds like yours is more sensitive.

Your brake fluid could be on the edge of low. Check and top it up.

Also you should use a lower gear at that speed, being down under 3k in 6th isn't great for the engine IMO. It lugs when you try to accelerate so low.

mine stayed on until i changed the pads

fluid or pads are low.
start with topping off the brake fluid and see if that fixes it.

I agree - keep dem revs higher for engine health. Lugging isn't good for vibrational energy loss that tranlastes to part wear and xs stress.

The only thing it knows is the fluid is low.....but if your pads are worn the fluid drops in the master to make up for the pad loss...and the light will come on if you don't top up your brake fluid
