I bought my car at a used car lot and how do you know what type of package do you have, touring or grand touring? How can you tell?

 

Do you have power seats? leather? do you have the dsc/traction control switch? is it an AT or MT, if an AT, what size are the wheels?

 

Easiest way to tell:

Touring: sunroof
GT: adds heated seats, leather

 

sport package: xenons and fog lights

Touring: BOSE AUDIO labels speaker on the front doors and on the front tweeters plus the sunroof, you will also see homelink rear view mirror

Grand Touring: Leather seats, power seats.......smart key card on 06+ models

 

it has power seats the heater seats bose audio sunroof wing 18" wheels xenons and fog lights

 

it is manual and has the dsc switch

 

Then it's the Grand Touring (GT). Top of the line, besides the Shinka (which really doesn't add much more).

yeah. The GT really has everything you need:

- leather seats
- power drivers seat
- lumbar support
- heated seats
- 9 speaker Bose sound system
- power mirrors / doors / windows / sunroof
- Homelink with auto dimming mirrors
- DSC and Traction Control
- Xenon HID headlights
- Sunroof

The only disadvantage of the GT over the sport or Touring is that it adds an additional 100 lbs to body weight. Not a big deal, but I'm sure you know additional weight can slow a car down some. Still, it makes driving on a daily basis much more enjoyable than with a Sport or Base version.

leather seats. Even though it is heavier, I doubt you'll really notice a difference in performance between an RX-8 GT and RX-8 Base / Sport.
