i got sick of waiting for a email so i finally called my dealer for a confirmation number and i got it

Today it will soon be the 12th. 30 days from the 13th of January. I suspect we'll get our emails from Mazda sometime this week. Patience is the key here - remember they are all trying out a whole new system of ordering a car and communicating with the customer. Some glitches are to be expected. But if anyone has not yet received their order number from their dealer, I'd suggest following up with them to get it and to make sure that Mazda has your email address.

I just talked with my dealer on Monday and they told me that my car is the first one that they are getting. No email yet from Mazda USA though.

Damn, it's hard for me to type under normal circumstances, let alone with my fingers crossed!

I got two numbers from my dealer; 200304001029 and 2003012367000123. I am not sure which one is my order number. My dealer said that the whole number is my "reference" number. Not sure what that means.

BTW, my dealer is swearing up and down still that I WILL receive my car in April. I dunno... :confused:

My dealer also told me April. I hope this is for the preorders and those waiting until it is in the show room will have to wait until June. April is a great month is our southern states for a new car.;)

I called Kin yesterday and got my confirmation number also. While we were talking I brought up navigation. Per Kin, adding navigation to my 2nd batch order will not delay it past July. So I added it and was given an updated confirmation number.

What sold me on the Navi was seeing the guages on the LCD of the Mazdaspeed version. I figured there may be some real kewl aftermarket stuff for this thing. I'm praying for a DVD hack.:D

i woulda ordered nav. but i heard alot of plp saying how it would delay my order so i didnt want to take the risk. besides i can always get aftermarket nav. which is better cause i can play dvd movies with it and its also cheaper

that would be very fuken sweet if we got em in april. and plus if ur in texas and florida and u guys r getting them in april then the west coast will definatly be getting them sooner. for the love of god, mazda please release it early!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of our newest members is a dealer. in this thread he said that production is sheduled for the first week of march and he expects to see the cars mid-april to early may :D :cool:

I was also told by my dealer 2 days ago that my car would be here in the middle of April. I find that hard to believe and I am just going to expect it to be June to August sometime. I don't want to get my hopes up.

I was able to get a confirmed order number from my dealer in Santa Monica, CA.

I have yet to get any reply from Mazda to my email requesting info about the number I was given.

For a MAJOR PURCHASE of more than $30 grand I would expect some response from Mazda. The loyal consumers for their products deserve better.

I hope they are listening!

X-Men 2 opening
 

I work in the Biz and a good friend of mine is an assistant editor on the X-Men sequel. He told me the Mazda suits visited the set several weeks ago.

With this kind of corporate attention, I would not expect to see any delivery of 8's until this movie comes out. It would seem to me they will time the release to match the movie.

All the dealerships are seeing the mythical "April" date on the order comformation screen and are thinking that they will be delivered on about that day. To my knowledge they are majorly confused and are falsely getting customers hopes up by doing so. The April date is the "Build" date, the date they will start production of the car.

NOBODY GET YOUR HOPES UP OF IT COMING ANY EARLIER. IF , and that's a big if, it shows up early it will be late may. but they should start showing up for delivery early june and so forth.

How are we suppose to get an email "within 45 days of production" when 45 days right now would put us at almost April, and I know of no car company that can make a car in less than 2 weeks and then ship it accross the ocean, wait in port, then ship via rail, then via truck, to the final delivery at the dealership.

I talked with a Mazda rep here in Auburn CA on 3-12 and he said it looks like the first cars could be here in May.

I finally got my order number today. My dealer called me just to touch base and to make sure I had my order number, 200304000396. He also stated that US production is still slated to start the beginning of April, and I should see my RX-8 in early June. HOOOAAA!

On 3-19 I got the factory acceptance letter from Mazda also. The more I read about the RX-8 the happier I get.
