CK!
arggg...
whats up people, i got a problem right now and that problem is that mazda dealership is voidin the engine warranty, and i need a NEW ENGINE NOW! SO THEY ARE NOT COVERING IT AND THE QUOTA CAME OUT TO 7800$ FOR PARTS LABOR AND SERVICE.....
BEFORE POSTING THIS I SAW THE MAG-MOSS WARRANTY ACT.. BUT RIGHT NOW THEYRE SAYING THAT because of engine modification [intake] theyre voiding it.
SO I CALLED *MNAO* and they said to talk to the dealer and see what the probable cause is... but i insisted i wanted HARD PROOF that it was was b/c of the intake. so now theyre tellin me its not completely voided..???? idk... wtf...
so tomorrow i will go speak to the tech that serviced my vehicle to find out why exactly HES VOIDING my warranty......SO.......... WHAT DO I DO IF HE TELLS ME SOME TECHNICAL BULLSHYT AND THAT THEYRE STILL VOID THE WARRANTY.?? WHAT ACTIONS AND RESPONSE SHOULD I GIVE??!?
I NEED SOME HELP SOON.... THANKS BUDDYS~

intake does not void your warranty.
Step 1) CALM DOWN!
Step 2) Ask (nicely) to speak with the service manager
Explain to them that you do not feel an intake would void a warranty and you're seeking 'further explanation'
What's wrong with the engine? Did you go in because there was a problem?
What steps did the dealership take to diagnose your car? What intake do you have? Do you have any other 'engine' mods?
The key here is to REMAIN CALM and be prepared to take this up the chain of command based on what answers the dealership gives you.

They cant void it. They just love to **** with people. Mazda really gotta get their tech line's people facts straight and stop pissing people off.
cuz in the end when you move this thing to the court, they will lose. Im sure.
what happen to ur engine anyway ?

Only the servive manager can void the warranty. That was how it worked at a Chevy dealer that I worked for. And even then....the customer always won! But Mazda may be different. GL......and like everyone else said.....make sure they can back up their claims with hard proof.
Have them write everything in paper. Talk to a lawyer to see if they are wrong/right.
If you need, have the lawyer write a nice letter to them.
But we need more details and you need to speak with them, not flip out on them.

$7800 is over priced i had to get a new engine put in my car and it was $4800. Mazda NA did not help or do anything for me since the car was 5k miles out of warranty. Only the regional service manager can make the decsion. And his decsion is final.
I had my warranty "branded" because of my turbo, but he is right. The regional service manager did it, not the technician.
Also $7800 sounds similar to the price quote that I got. Ask your service manager if that includes a new warranty on the engine/labor. If it does not, you could have it done at a Rotary specialist place for less. Talk to Paul over at Mazmart. Great prices on slightly used engines, and great service.

2500-3000 get a good engine from Mazmart, + maybe 1K for labor.
okay let me complete the whole story..jus the clarify a couple of things... so anyways i did talk to the service manager and he said that the tech that is working on my car talked to tech-line and they said to just void it.. so i asked if i can talk to techline and the service manager said no its only for techs...[obviously, just wanted to here what he would say..] but newaiz, he says to talk to the tech tomorrow and see what his explanation is to the cause of the motor to fail. Even so its an explanation from the tech, it still doesnt have any type of "HARD PROOF" of why the intake caused the failure of the motor. OHHH alsoooo.. i rememeber when they first called me to tell me that my engine needs to be replaced , i hear in the background of one of the techs or someone saying "just tell him its a rotary wankel engine...." im guessing to confuse me of what i dont know or some shytt... =/
but tomorrow i will talk CALMLY to the tech and if he gives me this bull crap, then i will take further procedures.

whats wrong with the engine?- i was driving and the car just went into limp mode and then after the car would not start. Then got towed in to Mazda Dealer and they said its because of the battery and corrosion on the cable and the engine got flooded. So they said they would de-choke the engine and then it will be okay and ready to go.."they were so confident....my ***"...then few hours later he calls back and says Mr.Bill your car isnt starting even after we put in the new battery and etc. I was like okay do a compression test. and they said thats exactly what we were gna do. i was like OKAY*~... [it failed compression test.].
Few days after they call back and said Mr.Bill your engine needs to be replaced and your warranty will be voided. Thats when i took action to call MNAO and tell them that theyre voidin my warranty with no hard proof and ALL TALK!
NO OTHER MODS HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE ENGINE ONLY THE INTAKE.SO, EVEN IF THIS TECH PULLS OUT THE FUNDAMENTAL CARD ABOUT THE AIR FUEL RATIO AND STOCHIOMETRY BULL CRAP.. THEN THATS WHEN I KNOW THIS IS ALL BULLCRAP AND THEN TAKE LEGAL ACTION.
I would ask to talk to the regional service supervisor. My computer went out, and at first the service advisor told me since my warranty was voided it was going to be $1200, but after he talked to them & let them know that I was always really good with the maintenance on my car & that the engine had nothing to do with the computer going out, the regional service supervisor agreed to replace my computer.
very good idea. Mazda will find any way they can to void your warranty. You will be amazed at the lengths they will go to. Also, there is the possibility your intake could have been installed wrong. That could lead to engine failure as well.
that is why there is a MAF sensor....to make sure that its flowingproperly. but thanks newaiz dude...definitley shouldve took the intake off.. which i tried to but thought it was just a CAT problem.
i'd still get the intake off there and put your old one back on. my car only had problems when i had that stupid *** intake. i took it off and they magically disappeared. it was then i realized why put an intake on there in the first place. all you are getting is noise....maybe 1 or 2 hp at the wheels. also, the tech seems to think that your intake was installed wrong (not saying that it is) because he is blaming all your trouble on it. i'm almost positive that's the explanation you will get from him.

snowflakes - you never listed the type of intake you have installed.
Otherwise, it looks like the diagnoses was done by picture vs determining exact root cause. You still have a claim, but being nice even if they try to give you the shaft is still key i think in you getting the warranty issue smoothed out.
My recommendation if warranty void is still the root cause. make sure to get the explenation in writing, If they are really obstinate of basing root cause is by the aftermarket intake in writing without any method of bench marking. You will have a legal case.
Not trying to lend credence to the aftermarket intake issue, but some have shown to cause a decrease in performance. Only stable one i'm aware out there is the Revi intake by Racing Beat.
best of luck!
Unfortunately keeping your cool in this 'event' is probably your best approach. My past experiences seeing of other customers, Managers are less flexible if the customer is being an ***. Now if your nice and they are being an ***? It's a pretty good sign of being setup for failure.
