and a lucky one lol. anyways i was driving today on academy and hit a curb when I was turning into taco bell because this bitch cut me off and I decided to turn to late.

basically i hit the front fender and scratched it very minorly about a 5x5 area. Not too concerned about that I'm just going to have it sanded and touched up, its just a small area where the paint meets the plastic at the bottom.

anyways I hit the front left wheel as well and I guess I need to replace the bearing and the tie rod?? I got it checked out at bob penkhus mazda but didnt want to pay $974. anyways would anyone be able to help me specify what these assemblies are called or give me direct links? I'd prefer not to report to my insurance company at risk of my premiums going up. anyways id love you guys more if you could help me out with this.

looks like the outer tie rod has the "bearing" and the inner is probably the part that is bent.

Runs about 100 bucks, pay a local shop at most two hours to fix it. If you messed up and bent the wheel and its stock they are normally 400 for each wheel but plenty of people on here selling them used including myself. i might also have the outer rod and bearing..

rockauto.com has the "Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly" TIMKEN Part # HA590096 (super complete) for $143.

Doesn't look like they sell the inner/outter tie rod though. So definitely find out what needs to be replaced before you go off and spend $250 in parts.

Oh, btw, I busted my catalytic converter going over a center median in a parking lot, so don't feel too bad.

the guy at bob penkhus said it was the tierod assembly and the bearing (wheel bearing i think??). anyways they showed me it lifted up and the wheel has a hardcore wobble when you push in on it, but they said that most of the further up hardware is fine like I guess the rest of the control arm assembly. I wish I knew more about the terminology! I'm going to get the parts and get it fixed this week hopefully. I got a 94 jeep grand cherokee v8 as my backup right now ::icon_no2:

ASk them for a complete writeup of parts needing to be replaced. Then shop around.

they wouldn't give me that but ill call them and ask and try to find out. they were tryin, of course, to get me to keep the vehicle there and let them perform the work come monday. fuck that lol

Take it to a place like Firestone, when they give you a "estimation" invoice they include the part #s that they are going to use to fix your car. Then you take those part #s and plug them into rockauto.com or google, and you find out what exactly it is they are replacing and get them cheaper online, then you take your car to a reputable car shop that can do the work quickly, cheaply and properly, and save yourself some money.

Then you don't hit a curb ever again lol

where would I be able to download the factory service manual?

okay so I went to tire world and they were cooler and wrote down the two things I needed.

"Driver's front hub and bearing damaged and drivers outer tie rod has excessive amount of play.

Recommend new L/F Hub/Bearing assembly, drivers outer tie rod end and alignment."

So I'm guessing that both items linked are exactly what I need. The "Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly" off RockAuto and the "Outer Tie Rod Left" off MazdaParts ??

Anybody know if that looks right?
