oem rx8 wheels on 4300lb CX-9?
I got some aftermarket wheels for the 8. Currently using the oem wheels for autox to stay in stock class but will be upgrading suspension soon. So I was thinking about using the oem 8 wheels on our other car-- Mazda CX-9 which is 4300lbs.
Is the oem rx8 wheels strong enough for a big suv like the CX-9? I don't do any offroading. Spec for CX-9 wheels 18x7.5 offset 44mm Spec for RX-8 18x8 offset 50mm What do you guys think? |
Do it

that would be hawt not gonna lie
sorry i have no clue if they are sturdy enough ???? |
I have 2 sets of stock wheels and have thought about swapping a set with our CX7. Haven't tried it yet though. I'll be honest, I never would have thought they wouldn't be strong enough.

Keep it on the road and you should be fine.

Do it and post pictures once their on. Oh and you might want some taller tires than the 8 uses. :lol2:

Cant wait for pics!!!!!

I wouldn't be too excited. I'm sure the CX-9's optional 20 inchers look better than the RX8's 18's.

Nice. Could you do one with the 09-10 wheels (not r3)?

That looks pretty good

Kinda wondering if the vehicle would drop coz the RX-8 wheels would have a smaller diameter compared to the one fitted to the cx-9
|
Well, the OP stated that the wheels in comparison are 18x7.5 with a smaller offset. So these aren't the optional larger wheels.
If he were going from 20's down to 18's, yes, it'd drop. Just like when you take a car and put larger wheels/tires, it raises. |
