OEM Navigation Not Working

The Navigation screen won't turn on. It was working fine, but all of a sudden it stopped working.

When I turn on the car and open it, it will open, but the display won't come on. Also, I can't close it or tilt it, I have to manually close it.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Does anybody have any ideas?

your description of the problem is kind of vague, but i'll describe what i think you're having trouble with... this is what happened with mine.

so the nav screen has a small motor, and a pair of gears to make it go up and down. the motor, has a position sensor on it, so it only turns x number of turns. when it turns UP, it turns the nav screen on, when it turns down it turns the nav screen off.

so the motor has a gear and the nav screen has a gear, and when i got mine it had slipped a tooth (or two), so it just did all kinds of weird stuff.

the solution is to remove the panel that the nav screen is in (the shifter, ashtray, radio, and vents have to come off, very easy), you will see the two gears on the left side. the nav screen pivots on two "pegs" i would make sure these aren't broken. if you remove the left peg, it will unmesh the gears.

i played with it for a while, but i think i held the nav screen open, and cycled the on/off function until it was on with the screen up, then you can remesh the gears, and reinstall the peg (it goes both ways but only one is correct), and then it should work.

mine took a few tries before i got it right, its picky.

i'm not sure how or why it jumped a tooth, and its been fine ever since
