numerous small items to buy

hey guys,

i have a couple different things i need to buy and not sure where to get them. i might just go to my local dealer, but thought i'd try a forum vendor first to give them some business, albeit not much.

1. stock passenger-side fog light bulb is out - i got interior bulbs from autolumination a while ago and they were terrible, half burned out in a week. i check the lights thread and got the bulb code, just not sure if i can pick this bulb up anywhere or if i have to order it through a mazda parts dealer.

2. a/c "1-2-3-4" control knob is broken. it just spins around - the piece that fits onto the other piece snapped off. haha, that makes no sense unless you've taken off the knob to see the underside. anyway, i'm sure that's a cheap piece. living in tx and not having control over air flow is kiling me - i have the knob off and have to use pliers to change it!!! FINISHLINEPERFORMANCE.COM

3. my steering wheel volume/mode buttons are wearing out - the black part is rubbing off a bit. i sure hope that the buttons just pop off and can be replaced indivually, i just haven't seen them for sale.

anyway, any vendors to buy from would be great. i tried a couple but couldn't find this stuff - i'm sure they have it i just couldn't locate them on their sites...thanks!

Number 2 is covered by a service bulletin. Check with a dealer.

i don't think so, plus i'm outta warranty. the little plastic piece snapped off, so it doesn't "grab" anymore, it just spins -- i'll look into it, but it seems like usage/wear-and-tear to me.

EDIT: i stand corrected -- thanks go48. but if i'm outta warranty i'd probably still have to pay for it huh. also besides the fan knob, my temp knob is messed up, it's just spins 360 degrees too, so i can't change from hot to cold, it's just cold no matter where the setting is. is this the problem? i feel like it's something deeper than just the temp control knob....

Check with forum member Mazsurfer, I believe he has them. I have white LED fog light bulbs. I like them so far. Got them here: http://www.ijdmtoy.com/webpage/products/LED_bulbs.htm

H11 is the size you want. If you just want the stock look, any automotive parts store carries the H11 bulbs for around 8-10 bucks.

yes Hoen does make great HID fog light bulbs I concur! :)

I don't have them "yet". I plan on getting them. Personally I wouldn't use LEDs for fogs as the light doesn't travel very far (from the one's I've seen). Ultimately I plan on going to HID fogs.

so yellow bulbs' light travels further than led ... do these hid "match" fog light bulbs travel less or are they "better" or what? i mean, do ppl get them b/c they're "white" or b/c they're better? just curious...

mine work just fine--its mainly for looks anyways....not like the fogs really help out that much :)

replacing fog light bulb

i was about to take the cheap way out and just run down to the auto store to get a h11 bulb replacement (for my fog light that's out). i looked up the manual online to see how easy/hard it would be to get access to the assembly. has anyone replaced the fog bulb? i can't believe it's that hard, but the manual says it's to have the dealer do it .... wtf? it can't be that hard can it?
