See if your gas cap is tight, it might be leaking.

lol definitely not a big issue. Like Arca said, check your gas cap. maybe you didn't tighten it enough, which is surprisingly a very common problem. I had this problem too, and fortunately all I needed was a new gas cap.

lol, i wish that were the case, but i doubt it although i have been getting better mpg, since not only the fix, but i have cut some of my restrictions in exhaust, basically everything but cat, which could also help, used to get around 16 and been getting 18-20 last 3 fill ups and intake and igniton next to come to see if can bring it up even more. Im going to check bill when i get home to verify bill, but you could just buy cap from them and put it on yourself depending on how much they are charging you for labor.

I'm pretty sure you can buy a generic gas cap from O'Reilly's or something for about 10 bucks. I'd check there first.

Dealership is trying to work you over.

They said they have to clean some gunk out of where the gas goes b/c the bad gas cap let it build up or something like that.

How about you go to your car, pap the gas cap lever, remove your gas cap, and have a look to see if there's any gunk built up.

I'm sure you would have noticed this gunk, if there was any there, when you last filled up your car, but I have no idea if you pay attention to things like this when you're filling up your car.

BC.

Don't always believe the stealerships, they will rip you off! Just change it yourself, its easy and its much cheaper than the stealerships.

I'm glad the dealership I got my 8 from doesn't bs around, at least with me. Then again, I only drop stuff off if it's either broken, and I don't want to/don't have the tools to deal with it, or it's free, haha.

But hopefully it is just the gas cap. Could be a couple other things, but usually it's the gas cap.
