normal or not?
so i just got an RX-8, 2004 last week, when the car is idle it seems to be making a "shhh" sound and once i press the clutch it stops. I am wondering if thats is normal or not. i have asked around and some say its normal others, disagree..
i'm wondering what some RX-8 owners have to say about that. do they just have loud clutch bearings? daniil, thanx |
its perfectly normal.
clutch bearing going bad will make noise when the pedal is pushed in. |
thanx, thats what i thought but just makin sure...

I hear mine doing it too while driving. Don't know about idling never paid attention to it. Never hear it when the clutch is in though.
|
Mine does it when the clutch is out / in neutral, then goes away when I push the clutch in.

2004 MT GT. it is normal at rest. goes away with depressing clutch. of course, i need a new engine now at 29k miles--but that's a different story

Yup. Mine does the same thing. Seems normal.

It's an 04, that's why. I have an 05 with 32k miles and it's still running fine. No problem so far with the engine and the compression. |
