Is this normal? (Cost per mile in British Pounds)

I bought an RX8 recently, and I drive it quite fast on roads... £10 lasts me 13 miles. Is this normal for these cars?

How many miles do you get off £10?

wow, that'd be a pain in the butt to figure out... first I'd have to find the exchange rate between the pound and dollar and determine the price per liter over there. Then convert liters to gallons, etc, etc.

For that reason alone i think your fuel economy sucks.

If you are really interested in the mileage per British Pound, I am going to move this to the Europe subforum where you will be more likely to find someone that would be able to compare :)

What is the volume of gasoline that you can buy for £10?

(Shell, just be glad he didn't ask for the number of nautical miles per pound when driving at 60 nanometres per picosecond.)

Well 10 pounds roughly equals $15.80, for 91 octane where I live it is $3.80(give or take) per gallon so I would get about gallons out of that which would take me about 70 miles down the road. A website I found listed UK gas prices at ~6 pounds per gallon but it didn't mention the octane rating, but it seems like you should be getting more than 13 miles per 10 pounds. By my calculation on yet another website you should be getting just under 2 gallons of fuel(premium I think) for 10 pounds so should be getting at worst 25 miles and at best 30+ out of it.

if E10 = $16, and gasoline is $4.50 a gallon here, and the car gets 18mpg, then

16 dollars/4.50 per gallon = 3.55 gallons.

3.55 gallons x 18 miles per gallon = 64 miles.

64miles / 16 = $0.25 a mile.

the Jetta gets 23mpg, so it goes 81 miles, and its $0.20 a mile, but its no fun.
