Is this noise normal???
 

I just bought an 04' RX-8... Traded in my RSX type S.. But with my RX-8 when I accelerate I hear a sqeek as I go thru the gears.. I'm not even dogging it.. I'm not used to the rotatry engine and just curious if this is normal.. The noise almost sounds like brakes squealing, but my brakes are fine.. It's only for a couple of seconds but its everytime I accelerate..

Is it the same sound every time or does it vary with speed, rpms, etc? Also welcome to the board, grats on the car.

Yes, its the same sound in every gear.. But its usually in the lower RPMs.. around 2-3.5.. Once I get up to 4.5 & up she sounds great.. Love the high pitch sound of the rotary engine.. Much better then my old exhaust on my previous cars..

May I suggest taking it to a Mazda dealer and have them do a fulll inspection asap. Good to know what else might be wrong with the car.

I'm taking it in next wednesday.. I'll let you all know if we find anything in case any of youz guyz are having the same problem...
