holy shit, they made it even uglier? Why are they bothering with a car that they had to skip an entire model year due to excess inventory on dealer lots?
|
it looks like it got punched in the face

|
I don't know why everyone is saying this...there won't even be a 2008 RX-8. It's being discontinued.

I know! I just got an 07 and with my luck they will release the mazdaspeed version in like 6 months!
|
I wouldn't worry. There's been a MS version coming for the last 3 years.

I will be 24 by 2010. Still young, no hurry for me at all. By 2015 I'll still be in my 20's! I got plenty of time...

2010 Mazda dealer info
The 2010 Mazda RX-8 will carry over its recently updated exterior styling while simplifying the model line-up. While maintaining a competitive price position, this one of kind vehicle has been improved by adding new standard features, package / option changes, and adding one new exterior color.

from a Manchester Mazda blog http://www.google.com/url?sa=X&q=htt...SKMTy7kTdiIw1g I already thought the RX-8 has a pretty simple lineup of packages/options. But of course as crappy as this car sells simplifying it even more probably wouldn't hurt. The biggest help would probably be lowering the price point on all RX8 models which I know they won't do but I don't think even the top of the line R3 is worth anywhere near 32K and once again at the end of this year Mazda will find that out by having to offer 6-8k rebates to help dealers get rid of them. Let me guess on the new color...probably another shade of grey or silver? What they should do is offer the R3 in white in the U.S. |

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog....-rendering.jpg
Ever since Mazda revived its Wankel rotary program in 2004 with the RX-8, the internet rumormill has constantly been abuzz with reports of a proper two-door RX-7 variant. The latest such rumor comes by way of Japanese magazine Best Car (via JDM-centric website 7Tune.com), which indicates the new sportscar has a 55% chance of making an appearance at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show in October. We understand that Mazda's continual development of its rotary engine technology is likely to bring a displacement boost from 1.3- to 1.6-liters for the next RX model – whatever and whenever that may be – along with the seemingly contradictory qualities of more power, cleaner emissions and lower fuel consumption. Naturally, Best Car provides a rendering of the supposed RX-7 to go along with the speculation of an October debut. Drawing inspiration from the expressive styling language from Mazda's recent concept cars along with a hearty dose of the happy-go-lucky expression of the current Mazda3. We'll see if there's any truth to this report in, oh, about three months. Just saw this today, but it is only a render...and that is a good thing IMO. |

I know I'm dreaming, but what I'd like to see is a targa roof option (which probably would mean just 2 doors or 2 seats) and either more displacement or more rotors. And throw in some nice FI while you're at it.
I love targa tops as much as they scream late 80's early 90's. Just reading over my own post it looks like I'm talking about a new RX though |
co co co combo breaker!
|
The next RX8 got so much torque, when you go full throttle towards east, you can actually slow down the earth and cause the day to slow down by 2 seconds.
|
Just saw that 2010 RX-8's base price is $60 more than this year, so once again Mazda priced themselves too high and will have to use incentives to sell it. Idiots..
|
The head lights look better but thehappy face has got to go!
Any how most likely it will be the new Kabura car. |
