No 4 month oil change under service plan??

So I call up my dealer to schedule my recall servicing and 4 month/5000 mile oil change (I took the buy out from Mazda)...

He first gets me pissed off that the first day I can schedule this and get a loaner car is 3 weeks from now.

The service manager goes on to say that " I can not change the oil in your car every 4 months, Mazda will not pay for it and I'm not paying for it"

I then read off the TSB "... is eligible for service under Schedule 1 or Schedule 2 maintenance plan" and "Schedule 2 plan: 4 months/5000 miles WHICHEVER COMES FIRST"

He tells me "Oh that has to be a mistake. I can not change your oil for free under the free maintenance plan. I will not do it until I hear otherwise from Mazda."

I then say "Well you will be hearing from Mazda... and expect a very low customer satisfaction rating"

He tells me "Fine"

Pissed, I read the TSB's I then say "Well in that case, I want a engine cover gromet, a new tempreature control knob, the transmition looked at because it feels notchy, and I seem to have low gas milage and a rough idle at times - I think I also need an ecu update".

He tells me "Fine" and hangs up.

Needless to say I will not recommend Young Mazda in Easton PA to anyone anymore.

What a load of crap!

I brought mine in at 4 months with 1600 miles and got the oil changed no problem - along with a loaner for the day.

My dealer yelled at me for waiting the 7,500 miles to do an oil change and told me that they absolutely did not recommend the 7,500 mile service plan. However, I should note that they are total jack asses that I wouldn't send my worste enemy to.

Mazda's biggest problem at this point is its total lack of a reasonable dealer network. Sorry, for you and find another dealer if you can. I mean that is a pre-paid service schedule. They are contractually bound to do the work.

I got mine done at Tony March in CT after 3 1/2 months with no hassle.

I would say that the dealer was doing you a service. Mind you he shouldn't have yelled, but I would never wait that long to change the oil. 3000miles/5000km MAX. I mean oil is the cheapest and most effect thing you can do to maintain the life of your car.

"But to each his own."
