New Owner of 2005 w/only 5300mi

Hello Everyone. Excited new owner here. Just signed the contract contingent on an inspection tomorrow but the car is a 2005 with 5300mi. Carfax is clean but it has been sitting for a couple of years as the previous owner was supposedly in the military. Only concern I have is the front right bumper was resprayed (reason for inspection) but I think that it was to fix cosmetic issues since the front right wheel was scratched on curb. It almost seems too good to be true that the car has such low mileage as I doubt there are many 05s like this. Any feedback is much appreciated.

Never rush anything, if you feel uncomfortable dont buy it. Dont rush yourself into a payment. If its meant to happen it will.

Thats the general rule of thumb I follow, and im sure some other as well. If its too good to be true it normally is. My friend found a car off ebay (RX-8) with a "clean" carfax and later on after he bought it it turned out the front bumper and front right body fender panel was made of Fiberglass and repainted... so it was probably in a accident and fixed up. Be careful

Welcome to the club!

Id be wary of the low mileage; not because of rolling back the odo, but the engine. The renny doesnt like 100% stop and go city driving all that much. So a low mileage 8 might not last as long as a higher mileage hwy driven 8.

It should be fine as long as not rust formed. Maybe he could run seafoam treatment. Prob it has low miles from a crash. The bent rims are a sign of front end collision. Which is not a big deal if it was fixed properly. You would know if it was totaled the title would be salvage.

Thanks for the responses. I picked it up today only after they put it on the lift. No accidents just some filler on the bumpers to cover curb scratches (excuse to buy new body kit). The dealer replaced the tires and reconditioned the wheels today for free so all is good. Air conditioner is dead though, dealer will recharge and seal on Monday. To be expected if it was sitting for several years while the owner was in Iraq. Lots of webs under the car so it was sitting for awhile. Love the way the rear suspension looks/is set up. You don’t really appreciate things like that when the car is on the ground.

Fixed AC way too hot with black int. so I went at it myself. Bad O ring on front bottom of condenser. fell apart in my hands so I am sure the sitting did not help I might go through and replace any other seals.
