I think that Mazda never should have started using the plastic end links in 89 in the RX-7 and still has not learned their lesson of cheaper is cheaper and that Mazda released that TSB a couple of months ago.

That's more than likely the noise I've been hearing for a long time now. Clunk in the right front end. I checked everything a half dozen times and found nothing loose. Now if they'll cover it.

that tsb came out couple months ago. mine has been having the same exact noise as the tsb for months. meh, no biggie, my autoexe links are in my garage waiting for me anyway. :lol2:

probably due to cost. they want to squeeze every single penny outa the production. Maximize profit (or lower the production cost, cuz I dont really think they're making money off from Rx-8)

it says no issues under normal driving conditions... so would it be potentially dangerous for those who track the car? I know it's their obligation to make sure the car is track ready and all... but still.

yeah, that is why they did it back in the late 80's. Cost. The S5 FC was getting too expensive and they cut corners on that car where ever they could.

But you would think that the cost between a cast plastic and stamped steel end link would be pretty minor... maybe $10 right???

I was having a clunk in my front end until my lower control arm broke. This happened Monday. Get it checked out now.

This wouldn't be an issue if you have aftermarket end links would it?

Vasichko 07-23-2008 02:08 PM

What did those endlinks run you and where did you purchase them from?

I had mine replaced under this TSB. Clunk went away for a couple of weeks, then it's back again.

Front bar is set at full hard, so apparently the new endlinks still can't handle the stress. Aftermarket links to the rescue...probably Agency Power.
