New to the forum and have a few questions

Hi, Im Adam Im currently looking into the rx8 I originally was to see an rx7 at the dealer and the rx8 was just their next to it.
Im thinking of purchasing the 8 in April but not sure if to get the 8 o r the 7. The 7 is one owner 95 model MB 5spd 98k miles and no rebuilt mint condition but front is questionable if hit or not, price $18,890. Now there's an 8 Winning Blue 6spd for $27k brand new. Now I am a big fan for racing in autocross, my ownly doubts are that the 8 is low on torque, the 7 was a dream for me but now I thought of getting something new like the 8. This will sound stupid but I tested the 8 and 7 on Gran Turismo Hehe, both seem to stay side by side only the 7 pulls on top end due to its turbo;s I suppose,LOL. Now the 7 starts with like 255hp with twinturbo, the 8 on the other hand 243hp? I think, so its pretty good I think for NA. Well hope someone can help, thanks

Forget grand turismo. Did you get behind the wheel of both cars? Assuming you did, what can you tell us about how each one felt to you?

It is pretty good for NA if you ask me. :)

Low on torque my ass.. I'm going sideways all the time. Gearing makes up for the low paper numbers.

Welcome Adam. Either one is a great choice. If this were a perfect world, I'd also have an FD sitting next the the 8 in the garage.

At least you test drove the RX8 on your PS2 before you considered it.

?

Althought both are rotary, but the 2 cars are of very different characteristic. Both are sports car, but one is more hardcore and the other more refine. Don't just look at paper numbers. Sometime they mean jacksh*t. Take the Elise for example, not very impressive numbers, but beat most things on the track.
You probably need to ask yourself what are you looking for when getting the car. If auto crossing is what you're into, I would say the RX-7. Frankly, if I'm your age, I would go for the 7. Have fun with it first. And as you get older where family is more into place, the 8 would then comes in handy with the 2 extra proper seats.

Over to you.

You based your judgements from Gran Turismo???? I know that it is the ultimate driving simulator but using a game to justify the performance of an RX-7 to an RX-8? *shakes head in disbelief and hands you the Flame Suite 3000* You'll be needing this. :D
