New and excited 2004 GT owner!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to say, I've been pretty heavy into cars as of lately and have lurked many many car club forums just to get into some action without actually signing up..

I've finally decided to sign up after reading the comprehensive, informative material on here and have really been impressed by the amount of help and dedication people on this forum will give to complete strangers. Another reason for signing up of course is that I just purchased a 2004 velocity red RX-8 today and am super excited to get into the forum world!

Some details on the car... 2004 GT, 168XXX km, MT (~90k on recall Renesis) bought for $6.5k in Canada. I know this may be slightly higher mileage for an RX-8 but my philosophy is that I pay for the enjoyment and I feel like I will really be able to enjoy this car!

I was never really dedicated to looking for an RX-8 (came from an older Pathfinder..winters can suck pretty badly in Canada) but came across this forum and found a (decent?) deal for an 04 for still being in post secondary and am loving it so far!

I have read the amazing thread that RIWWP put up and many many great people have contributed to that and I thank you all for the help!

Look forward to following and hopefully posting on this forum!

Thank you! Pics (sure you've seen em all before!)

Also I have a slight problem and I was wondering if I could get help on it...

When I went to meet up/test drive/purchase the owner had said as of the past week when he went in to get an oil change, the technician had told him there was a leaking oil line which I believe was from crankcase to rotor. Not sure if this "line" is part of the OMP or not but there was visible oil from underneath the vehicle.

This gave me a $500 discount on the purchase price and the owner had said it was just a small hose but a pain to get to.

Any ideas on what this might be or how costly the fix is?

Specs again are 168XXX on body, ~90k on recall engine, catless straight pipe.

Thanks
