New Engine

I recently took my 8 to the dealership because my g/f moved it and shut it right off. You all know what that means. After the deflood, they ran the tests and determined that it failed compression test and performance test. They were vauge on what could have caused this and how to prevent this in the future. Car has 87k on it now and will make it past the 100k b4 the engine goes again. Any suggestions on why this happened and how to avoid it?

Also I went to add oil the other day to keep the level correct and noticed that the oil looked "milky/tan", any ideas on why that is?

Isn't milky/tan oil normal due to vapor/humidity or something, especially in cold weather? I think there is a TSB to fix it for people who complain about it, but it isn't something to really worry about.

Unless your coolant bottle has brown bubbles, don't sweat it -- I think it's fine? (Or am I wrong about that too?)

milky substance on the dipstick is fine. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/strange-gunk-oil-dipstick-info-questions-49652/

as for the new engine, what are your driving habits? do you baby it or do you rev? what type of oil are you using?

quite honestly, there are a few on here who "drive it like you stole it" and are still on their 2nd or 3rd engine. check out the oil thread to answer some of your questions.

In answer to both, the dealer said the oil thing is normal. My driving habits are normal as well I usually keep it between 3k and 7k. Im using 5w30 as this is what the dealer suggested.
