New coils, wires and plugs....

Installed all new coils, wires and plugs. Now cold starts are better( they weren't bad before) . Idle sometimes seems rougher than before and starting after engine is fully warmed is a little different. It seems that if the engine is off for 20-25 minutes, starting is ok, 25-45 minutes and it takes 1-2 seconds longer to start. Is there any correlation to the coil/wire/plug change? Is the 1-2 seconds longer starting normal?

TIA

Need to supply more info for us to give you an intelligent answer here. What year and mileage for your car. What are the compression numbers for your engine ( a key guide to engine health). Any other issues or history of hard starts ? What coils, wires and plugs did you install, oem or aftermarket ? Are all your sensors clean like MAF, ESS? Electrical contacts clean (battery posts especially) , grounds clean ? Things like that we need to know.

If you find the problem.. Let me know. I got new coil/wires/plugs from autozone 1k miles ago, as well as a new battery(walmart), cleaned MAF and starts are still 2-3 seconds. Both hot and cold

2004 model with 89,000 miles all stock. Coils replaced with OEM, with NGK wires and plugs. No history of hard starts to speak of. I'm almost hesitant to even call this condition a "hard start" in that it only takes an additional 1-2 seconds to start over a cold start, and it seems only in that window of 25-45 minutes after shutting down.
I have cleaned the MAF, but not the ESS nor the battery posts.

I know I will get lambasted over this one, but I have not had a compression test done. The car absolutely runs great and is really strong, only minor issues are the sometimes rough idle and the extra couple of seconds to start when hot.

Did you reset both your NVRAM and KAM after the swap?

Have that compression test done, any 04 engine with 89,000 miles and unknown maintenance could be heading toward failing, even if it feels strong to you. You would not be the first used 04 owner that thought their engine felt strong, but in reality it was headed toward failure. Better to know for sure than just a feeling. Everything else you do for the car and the car's longevity will be affected by the true condition of that engine. Sure you can tell a lot by the feeling through the seat of your pants, but it is not the same as knowing the truth about your car. My advice, just do it. We are all here to help you, but you must start by really arming yourself with this key data.
