need ur opinions to make decision before tuesday plz :)

ok i've been looking for rx8 to buy for some while and finaly i found one but as an experinced ppl i need ur help to light my way :D

the 8 i found is 2004 and has these opitions:
A/C: Front, Cruise Control, Navigation System, Power Locks, Power Steering, Remote Keyless Entry, Bucket Seats, Leather Interior, Power Seats, Airbag: Driver, Airbag: Passenger, Alarm, Anti-Lock Brakes, CD Player, Premium Sound, Power Windows, Rear Window Defroster, Alloy Wheels, Sunroof/Moonroof
Original owner. New battery. New tires. Auto transmission with paddle shifters. Homelink system. Almost all factory options that were available at time of purchase.
Always garaged. Excellent condition. All service records. (seller page).
warranty expired 3 weeks ago :(

the car has 17,271 Mileage, its been owned by old man for the last 4 years (one owner) and he is only asking for $17,500.
i took the care for a ride and i loved it :)

Do you see this is a fare price i should go for? i can cover it till 16k though :(

EDZRIDE 11-11-2007 11:35 AM

Sounds pretty resonable to me:)

safiline 11-11-2007 11:42 AM

is the warranty a big issue i should be woryy about it?!

chetrickerman 11-11-2007 11:45 AM

find out when he bought the car, the warranty ends 5 years from that date, and im assuming that if he took good care of it, he did all the service recalls and flashes, but i would just make sure when you buy it. check under the car to make sure everything is all good, and if you havent already, test drive it.

Easy_E1 11-11-2007 11:50 AM

Resonable price. But everyone want's to pay less. Tell him $15,000 and compromise with $16,000. Sounds like a good car. I would take the VIN # to the dealer (service Dept.)and have them look up the warranty history on the car.

safiline 11-11-2007 11:50 AM

there is all the recordes i should check them but as he said they all about oil changing and a recall i think.

i did test drive it, Safiline Like ;) and the car suite me very well :D i worried about that too cuz i'm skinny :S

rglbegl 11-11-2007 11:56 AM

Sounded good till I read the part that says - AUTO TRANSMISSION.

Get the 6-speed. If you cant drive stick . .. learn . . .it is worth it!!!!

chetrickerman 11-11-2007 01:15 PM

YES!!! you will not be sad with a 6-speed

safiline 11-11-2007 04:41 PM

no actually Automatic is just perfect, i know there much defferent in HP but gotta get AT cuz i have my cousin living with me and got Obstruction in one hand when he suppose to drive it with me.

so I understand that its good to go for this car?! i will try to get it lower.

chetrickerman 11-11-2007 05:02 PM

if you are satisfied, then go for it

Groundrush 11-11-2007 05:45 PM

$17.5k is a good price for a GT with that mileage. No need to try and screw the guy, I'd pay it and be happy. Also, if I see one more person type "ur" instead of "your", I'm going to go postal and blow up "teh intarnets". It's two more letters for God's sake...is this rocket science?

Myardor 11-11-2007 06:08 PM

u

I've saw much better prices on AT 8's.

If you want an AT so bad get an 06 or better.

valpac 11-11-2007 06:49 PM

market price for a 2004 AT w/ 17K miles in Excellent condition is $17,685. (Kelley Blue Book)

My suggestion? Find a newer MT.

safiline 11-11-2007 07:32 PM

well i've looked over and over and i found MT 05 in same price or sometimes less but as i mentioned early MT doesn't work with my cousin in the other hand no one of the other 8's i have found has Nivagation system but this.

I think i'll be asking for 16k as it all i have :P

I just fiddled on kbb.com and with all the options you listed, including nav, I'm showing that in excellent condition, private party price is $20.5k. Edmunds is showing $19.4k. Not sure why these numbers are so far off from Valpac's above, and $19.5-20.5k sounds way high, but you might consider checking kbb and edmunds.com on your own and see what's an appropriate price to offer. Sounds like the car is loaded, so he might balk at an offer of $16k. Good luck on the purchase though!

if you have to go AT, go with a 6-speed, 6-port AT rather than a 4-port in the '04s.

Should I wear shorts or long pants today?

Make your own choice or ask your mom.

if you have all the updates on it and check it out, if everything is good, buy it, even if it is an AT, you will be happy
